I remember a few days ago some reporter (I think it was Seckbach) asked Broner if he would work as a sparring partner for Pac, and he dodged the question.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...as-secret-sparring-partner-says-freddie-roach

Manny Pacquiao is preparing for his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. with a secret sparring partner that longtime trainer Freddie Roach apparently took from the opposing camp.

GMA News passed along comments from Roach, who didn't want to reveal the identity of the workout partner due to the uniqueness of the situation.

"I have a secret sparring partner. He doesn't want to get beat up or something like that because he's leaving Mayweather's camp," he said.

It's an interesting twist. Just last week, Dennis Gasgonia of ABS-CBN News reported on a situation where Roach had claimed Mayweather adviser Al Haymon was working behind the scenes to prevent Pac-Man from getting sparring partners.

"I'm hiring sparring partners, Al Haymon's people calls them up and offers more money for them not to come. [But] I'm not worried about those guys," Roach said. "We got four really good sparring partners for Manny for this fight, Mayweather look-alikes."

Ultimately, this could all be mind games more than anything else. There's little doubt both fighters will be as prepared as possible by the time May 2 rolls around.

Prep the "Pac lost because he couldn't get good sparring, that is the only reason!" excuses.

Spence is a southpaw. I'm not sure why Pac would chose him. Freddy is simply talking out of his ass. Haymon is supposedly hiring guys not spar with Pac, yet they find some top secret sparring partner from Mayweather's camp. It doesn't matter anyway. Manny is a top level fighter. He knows how to prepare for a fight. He doesn't need any secret sparring partners.

He is sparring mayweather. Fight will be an exhibition so we have a rematch. Too much money to be made for one guy to dominate.

Lewis vs Tyson made the most money in its time and was the first ever Boxing event that saw both networks join forces for one night. Yet, the result was final based on actual performances and a rematch was never necessary for obvious reasons.

Yes but everyone knew Mike was getting a paycheck that's all and at the very end of the line. Pacquiao and mayweather are not far off prime. Where does Floyd go after this one for bigger money. No bigger money than a pacquiao rematch and I doubt he wants to take his chances at 160 for his legacy.

    "not far off prime" ...?

They're not quite "shot" relative to other boxers' by any means, but one is 36 and the other is 38 years old. They are each many divisions above where they began their careers. One has been in closer fights than usual of late while the other has lost a couple and been KO'd of late.

They are clearly a good long ways away from their primes.

Secret sparring partner? Steve Forbes? He is pretty much everyone's go-to-guy to emulate Floyd's style.
