He fought only once at 135. The lineal champion there became so immediately after losing to Pacquiao, though.
He beat lineal champion Ricky Hatton at 140.
There is no lineal champion at 147 for him to beat.
    He's never fought at 154.

    WHAT ??????!!!!!

What's the glory in fighting a welterweight zombie in Martinez?
Better not fight him if that's the case. And also I'm against belts won in catchweight fights.

In a close fight that was not held at 135.
A sizable portion believes Mosley was after he beat Margartio.
Yet still paid the sanctioning fee for a trinket there (which had just previously belonged to Martinez)

He won lineal titles at Flyweight, Featherweight, Junior Lightweight, and Junior Welterweight. That's four titles. That's the most out of any boxer in recorded history.

Marquez-Pacquiao II was at 130. I don't really see the point of you indicating that the lineal champion at 135 achiveved that status immediately after losing to Pacquiao when their fight was close and took place in a different weight class.

Why stop with Martinez Roach, call out the Bernard Hopkins at 154, call out the Klitschko's at 160? The *******s will love you even more.

If Manny is the 154 lbs champ, guess what Freddy? He should take fights at 154.

    Classy:

When asked about a rematch with Margarito, even though Sergio would earn a nice paycheck and Marg is a household name, Martinez states that he has gotten so far ahead of Marg in terms of skill level that a rematch would be hazardous to Marg's health. Therefore Sergio chooses to pass on the opportunity.

    Not classy:

Team Pacquiao sees that Marquez is near the age of 40 and looked as slow as ever at welterweight. They jump on the opportunity to knock him out. God forbid Team Pac fights JMM at 140 because that would somewhat make it an even playing field which would be considered a sin within the holy church of Top Rank.

To Team Pac's credit I really do feel Pac doesn't have a lot of formidable opponents to choose from. I mean it's decent that they're giving Marquez a nice opportunity but it's a better idea to have him beat a top name at 140 before he gets a shot. After all, didn't Arum say Marquez had to "earn" his way up the welterweight division? Meanwhile Pac should be fighting the 2nd best welterweight which would be Ortiz. You can say all you want about that being a mismatch. But the set-up makes sense and everyone knows it!

Pacquiao and Martinez are not of the same weight level. Use your brain. End of story.

What would be the big deal Martinez beating Pacquiao at 154?
