funny when the trianier runs his mouth more then the guy who is actually gonna be the one thrwoing punches. having said that, theres no gurantee that pac beats hatton, let alone koes him, this is all talk. hatton isnt an old wahsed up fighter like dlh.
It took him 10 rounds of punching Diaz flush in the face with nothing coming back before he finally folded. Pac's not only got a guy with a better chin than Diaz in front of him, he's got to be more wary of what's coming back at him both to head and body. It's a ridiculous statement, and Roach knows it; he's just trying to stir things up a little bit, create a bit more of a buzz - something the fighters seem to have forgotten with all the mutual admiration that seems to be going on.
Ricky's reaction about roaches comment: "Freddie could be playing early mind games but I’m not arsed–and I say that sincerely. I am not bothered at all. I wish Manny would come looking for me but if he does the fight will only last 30 seconds. Please God he does come looking for me." -Hatton
Nah nah nah . . . don't get lost in the HYPE peeps . . . that is not an honest to goodness prediction by Roach. Both camps are playing mind games and at the same time HYPING the fight . . . reason why a lot of press releases and articles . . . that's all there is to it.
This is quite true. However it's bad advice to tell a boxer that he needs to win in 3 rounds or consider himself a failure. Hopefully Manny takes this with a grain of salt...
Maybe over there you dont, but its a pretty common over here "Want a game of footie?" "Nah man, I can't be arsed"
Either Roach thinks that Hatton is complete garbage to say that, or he's truly starting to believe his fighter is invincible. I can understand if Roach has keyed on something specific in terms of how these two styles will mesh, but no matter how good Manny Pacquiao is reputed to be he's not off the charts in terms of power or skill by any measure. On top of that Hatton isn't a ****ing dixie cup, he's just about as rugged as fighters come. Eating a few hundred jabs and power shots is just another night on the job for the guy. Besides, I don't think anyone is prepared for how few punches are going to be landed by either guy early in this fight (IMHO), not even Freddie... Anyway, I don't believe it. Roach's plan is either to tear into Hatton or box clever, and box clever seems alot more likely with what they're giving up in terms of natural size and strength.
I am a huge Pac fan but I don't see him stopping Hatton within 3 rds. A naturally bigger guy, Ricky will walk through Pac punches. If Pac would win by stoppage, it would in the later rounds, probably 9th or 10th.
