140-145 will be the best weights for both men if they fight, 147 will be too much.

    Cotto was a 147 champ

Margo and Him were fighting for a 154 belt

Marquez and Pac can meet at 144

for sure Marquez gonna accept that but Pacquiao will heavily critize for bloating Marquez same as to Mayweather. Pacquiao is still 138 pounder. Why fight at 147:huh

I like Roach but yeah, this is definitely a ***** move and I hope if they do fight it's at 140, since Pac can still easily make that weight.

Marquez actually doesn't need to weigh at exactly 147lbs during the weigh in. He can weigh at any weight he wants which I assume is lower than 147lbs. Pac is also not going to weigh at 147lbs so they are basically both below 147lbs during the weigh in.

let's see how jmm fares first vs. katsidis. prob is that jmm hasn't completely dominated an opponent @135. most if not all of his fights have been competitive with opponents not even near his level. this suggests that jmm is really still a natural featherweight and is already stretched @135, much more @140 or 147.

jmm has to completely dominate katsidis for him to even contemplate being at least competitive vs. pac @140 or 147. but like his previous fights @135, i doubt if he can do this (completely dominate katsidis) but we'll see.

First of all Marquez needs to beat Katsidis, and I think Katsidis has a good chance of winning.

If Pacquiao can weigh in at or around 147 lbs then this fight won't be competitive, Marquez as great as he is just isn't good enough to beat top Welterweights. If Pacquiao beats him at or around 147 he won't deserve much credit (nor did Mayweather)

I think Pacquiao is at this point in time a natural JWW and could quite easily compromise to a fight around 140lbs or a catchweight below it.

It won't happen but I would like to see Pacquiao fight Marquez at 135lbs (providing he can still get down there) and try to claim the lineal lightweight title. A fight at 135lbs could be competitive.

    Who I would like to see Pacquiao fight;

    Mayweather
    Martinez/Williams (maybe pushing it though)
Marquez @ 135 (if he can get down there)
    Winner of Bradley/Alexander

Pac worked hard to become the #1 welterweight. If Marquez wants 147 crown, he should go up at 147. He should do a Pacquiao to prove that he's the better fighter.

I don't think Pac can still go down at 135. He is already acclimated at 140-147. A catchweight at 144 is okay. But if Marquez wants the welter crown, he should go up at 147. He fought Floyd at 147. Why should it be different w/ Pac?

I just think it would be a total one sided fight (like v Mayweather)

although Pac can take the moral high ground if the fight is at 144lbs and he weighs in at 144 and not 146.

147?:rofl Roach knows what's up. Manny overbloats himself to make 144, why not just make it 135-140? Even now Roach doesn't want JMM. JMM may have 1-2 more fights in him, but in the Diaz rematch he's lost abit of an edge in just about every dept. Still, Roach I think like Manny don't want any part of JMM. They want to basically defang and declaw the jaguar. I just lost some respect for Roach for doing this. ***** move.
