Man this fight is going to be really about how great of shape Miguel is. Is going to have to fend off a 25 year old beast that is going to make him really work inside of there. If cotto's boxes he should win but you never know, Cotto has been thru wars.

Cotto IMO doesn't have the durability for a war at this point. His best chance is to box Canelo not try and bang with him.

Interesting interview, I haven't seen Freddie so excited (if I'm not mistaken) to be talking about boxing in a long time, and no mention of retirement, talks about future bouts instead!!

I must say I think Cotto is looking better than he ever has before, he really looks like a solid middleweight and I think this fight between him and Canelo is all going to come down to who wants it more.

Who is willing to dig that little bit deeper, who is prepared to get hurt that little bit more. I f Cotto has that fire in him still then he's really in this fight, not if he just decides to be a journeyman and happy to lose on points if Canelo hurts him.

I think we could get a classic in this one and if Canelo manages to win then Canelo vs. Golovkins is a really good fight. I'll go with Golovkin on points in that one if it happens.

If your plan is as good as it was your plan vs mayweather, GL with that.

    Canelo will destroy cotto.

At first i thought this, and thought "relatively easy fight for canelo"

Cotto is old, will fade late etc......

Then i remembered how poor Canelos stamina is. If anything, Even at canelos young age, and cotto being in his twilight years, Canelo may be the one fading in the later stages if he cant impose his weight on cotto early on.

    GREAT fight on paper!

I think his stamina issue will ease up now he's operating at middleweight. He looked really tight at 154.

Cotto is a real MW based on what? Canelo is going to be the first real MW Cotto faces that isn't on a ridiculously uneven playing field (even though this fight still is at a CW...).

I don't think Cotto could be competitive with 90% of the ranked MW right now if they fought at 160, but if he beats Canelo on Nov then I'll admit he's a real deal at MW.

Agreed. I don't think his stamina will ever be "great" but I think it'll do his body a lot of good to move up to 160 for good.

Good to hear, that means Cotto will walk into a counter and get KTFO quicker.

Alvarez doesn't exactly have the best stamina, especially not with Cotto landing on him throughout the fight to further take his steam off. That's why Cotto's chances in this one are rather good. This fight should be very competitive and close for as long as it lasts unless Alvarez is able to badly hurt Cotto early and keep up the pressure throughout.
