i think we are all missing the point , the dates dont add up , if berto is fighting 30 jan , and the manny fight is 13 march , berto will have finished sparring around 25 jan, and manny will have started training only 10 days before , with his sparring being about 3 weeks into training , also sparring manny a week before a fight with mosley will only confuse his tactics.

    andre berto? not bad,

but how would he exactly emulate floyd's style, i mean berto is trigger-happy with his right uppercut and floyd isn't.

Berto can fight like Floyd without a brain and without that right hand and without that jab.

Berto is fighting in January and Pac is fighting in March

I know berto will need some time off and it depends on what happens in january (win or loose) as he could have injuries, cuts ect.

What makes it interesting is if Berto defeats Mosley, especially impressively then he will be eyeing a fight with the pac/pbf winner. So I wonder how that would play out. Would he want to spar with them to get in their good graces or would he not want to give away too much practice before their fight?

So Berto isn't a Mayweather replica but who is? Apart from maybe Ian Nappa:yep

Sparring isn't the same as fighting and they might just wanna work on certain things. Berto could probably do something really well, and Manny could practice adapting to it. You wanna practice against body punching then you find a guy that's a good body puncher even if he's not an exact replica of Cotto, its still gonna help.

Obviously I was only half serious about Ian Nappa but that little guy does do a pretty decent impression, look up his vids.

Lets just hypothetically say team Cockroach gets Berto for a spar, and Berto brutually knocks Catchiao out?

What happens then? Will it ruin Manny?

This *** is by far one of the worse posters on ESB.

    Catchiao?

Do you know that Pac has as many catchweight fights as fraud does, and Pac didnt come two pounds overweight in his catchweight fight like the cherrypicker did.

berto's manager is al haymon who is also the mgr of floyd.

it would be like letting a spy in camp.

    This excellent for both!
First, that is all Berto qualified for in front of Manny. To be a sparring partner, thats it.
Second, this will give Berto the best chance to beat Mosley. I don't think he will but this can make the fight more interesting........ He do have some chance however, due to the styles.

Do you really think that Berto would spar with Pacquiao to prepare to fight a right handed fighter? Yeah, that's not going to happen. The plan, according to Roach, is to ask Berto to be a sparring partner after the Mosley fight on Jan. 30th. This of course is ridiculous as well. If Berto loses, he'll probably be beat up and will need time to recover. No way in hell would he start sparring a week or two later. If Berto wins, he'll be a unified champ. Now way in hell, a young, undefeated, unified champ is going to agree to be someone else's sparring partner.
