Come on you knew it was coming http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=241486 For anyone that didnt catch Buncey's boxing hour, the legend that is Steve Bunce had a little dig at our own Rob Palmer over the Haye-Wlad fight. The link above shows the discussion. Rob claimed that Haye and his team didnt fancy the Haye fight at all, otherwise they would have accepted team Klits offer. Buncey's reply was: 'OK...hands up on here everybody that would work for less just because a geezer somewhere has called him a chicken...hands up! Come on! Rob, have you seen The Holy Grail? Have you ever read Sir Gawain and the Greene Knight? Well, there's a mad knight in there who never knows when he has lost...he fails to see reason. You are now acting like that knight. How can Haye be wrong for saying 'No' to less money? Have you ever been in an intensive care unit with a fighter's family? Nobody should ever tell a fighter to drop his fee because of his pride. Shame on you. Adios.' So, who do you think was right? Should Haye have accepted Wlad's offer, or does money rule in boxing? BTW, i have Buncey by mid to late stoppage in this 1
Robs a strange combination of being level headed and business-like about boxing and yet very idealist (and unrealistic) over a few particular issues that "push his buttons".
im with rob on this one, haye challenged the klits and they accepted, if your the challenger then you should expect to be offered the lower half of the split, 60/40 is usually the norm. i think haye knows he's only got a punchers chance against vlad and vitali still has some life in him yet.
Its a strange 1 i will give you that. Robs way gets us a fight between Haye and Wlad, Buncey's way gets us a fight between Haye and Harrison. I no what i would prefer to see. But it is a business at the end of the day. I mean if PBF took the money option offered to him in November, everyone on the forum would be dead happy. So it works two ways for me
Totaly agree Add to the fact hes already pulled out of one fight and pulled that stupid publicity stunt with the t-shirts.
I'll tell you honestly... I couldn't care less about what the money is, there is plenty to go round. They should just get on with it.
Hayes going to milk this title for a few quid before crunch time. Not exactly the noble thing to do but thats boxing sometimes.
Tbh I couldn't give a flying **** about who offered what. The Klits bore the life out of me. I'd rather they retire from the sport for good. Now. the t-shirts were great btw.
to be fair rob just assumes alot of things, adam booth has stated its all coming down to german TV bit pathetic imo
Yes! Spot on!!! The fight we all want to see is being put on hold because of German TV! Pretty much sums boxing up.
Are the klits not signed up to RTL? Why try and negotiate on something that is non negotiable?! The more i look at the statements from booth the more i think Haye doesnt want the fight
and the klits could say, well primetime show some of our fights so we want them to broadcast, but as been said before, im just taking an interest in the fights that are happening.......like Barrera Vs Soto
so is it hayes involvement with sautheland thats stoping this fight ? i would also like to know whether this "50-50 no options " offer was for real?
