I think thats a good comparison mate. Both have moved up divisions and know they have to be careful at their new weight. I reckon Haye thought he was easily the best Cruiser in the world and wanted to prove it, I don't think he sure he's the best Heavy and its changed how he acts and views potential fights.

Wladamir Klitscko never made a t shirt with Hayes head cut off?

David Haye vs Valuev is the onlt fight he has had that was shown by German TV.

I am still convinced the Haye vs Adameck fight brings in more cash than Haye vs Audley to.

Both get 20,000 seats in the UK. Audley may get double the PPV sales but Adameck brings US TV and from elsewhere and it puts Haye in a stronger position for the Klitscko negotiations.

I am really clinging to the hope its people other than David himself stopping the fight and that he will turn down Audley Harrison as he has personally suggested.

As the hardcore boxing fans, we should be thought about first. I trully beleive this. Where would Haye be right now without fans like us who sent emails to setanta begging for the Mormeck fight to be shown? Who in the general public is going to be telling the grandkids about David Haye?

    Exactly.

Valuev and Ruiz could be seen as very good wins if Haye builds on them. If that's the be all and end all of his Heavyweight tenure, I will see it as a MASSIVE disappointment.

Going in with either Klit and losing will boost his legacy rather than not stepping in with them. Like Floyd, Haye doesn't seem to care about what the fans think of him as a fighter. He will end up going down as one of the better Cruisers of all time: a division with little historical depth.

Shame. Even with his (lack of) punch resistance, he has certain attributes that could make him a very good Heavy indeed.

Yep, like you say Flea, as it stands not fighting Haye will not impact how the Klits are looked back on one bit but the same cannot be said of the other way around.

People say things like this but there's not actually a lot of evidence for it. How many times do we see a fighter getting thrown under the bus for one defeat?

I work in Southampton docks, and every Polish driver that comes in greets me with chants of 'ADAMEK! ADAMEK! ADAMEK!' and ask me 'when is your boy Haye going to fight Tomasz?'

That's the biggie though Rob; it could do Wembley easily. Adamek could be built up as a monster by Sky pretty easily, and the casuals would flock.

Adamek is quality, and its an important fight for the division; that's what gets the hardcore.

It's not an easy fight; Haye dodges accusations he's scared of tough fights.

    Haye makes money.

Easy. Okay, so 'Adamek has got Grant'. It's too late to sidestep that now, but if Adamek is having a warm-up fight I wouldn't be too upset with Haye fighting a warm-up fight (and yes I could probably settle for Audley, though one round isn't really going to keep Haye sharp) with the guarantee of an Adamek fight to keep us intrigued.

He's gonna get thrown under for not fighting 'em. Sometimes you've gotta take the risk. The current feeling with Haye is that he doesn't want it, and it pains my heart to say it, but I no longer thinks he wants it, even though I think he's capable of taking Wlad out of his comfort zone and would probably bash up a past-it and massively overrated Vitali, who has awkwardness and thats about it (doesn't even have much power for even Haye to be worried about)

Haye vs Adamek would be a great fight. Would generate loads of excitement, make lots of money and give Haye exposure in the USA. I would love to see Haye take this.

About a year ago, the Klits were catching all the flak. As it stands today, if they weren't to fight him it would be seen as detrimental to Hayes legacy and not theirs.

    :thumbsup It would be deadly

The only problem is with how long a break Haye takes between fights. If we got Audley followed by Adamek then we're waiting years for Haye/Klit
