Robert Helenius vs ancient heavyweight champions

Not even close to it.

As his record curently stands, I could not justify picking him over anybody on that list.

 

Helenius would beat Burns...why not ?.....Burns never faced a big guy like him, with real HW power....and the size difference is simply gigantic....

 

It's not about his record; it's about his abilities as proven against the opponents he has faced. They don't enter the ring and swing their resumes at each other. Even at this stage of his development, given his great physical gifts and proven finishing abilities, he wipes out 2/3 of these dainty sized cromags.

Burns did not beat anybody like Helenius, but he might well have beaten some people like Chisora.

Wouldn't you like to see him in a few more fights before even picking him over Burns?

However I can´t see enough skills in Burns to compensate his huge size disavantage here.....

PS- Dempsey kills Helenius and Chisora......

 

One thing that can be said for Vurns on film, is that he was an incredible infighter, and destroyed some much bigger if limited men.

While I do regard him as one of the weaker lineal champions head to head, I suspect that he would have disposed of todays commonwealth grade heavyweights.

 

Must remember that fighters in those days were not real professional only amateur's compare nowadays boxers

 

Absolute rubish.

Compare the training regimes of fighters from that period to those of the curent top ten heavyweights. The curent heavyweights don't even come close to the same level of profesionalism.

If anything, the opposite is the case.

If you had shown these guys a picture of Sam Peter or Ruslan Chagaev, and told them that this was the champion in the early 21st century, they would have laughed at you.

I respect Max as a man and a boxer, but he was cruiserweight size. At best he would win UD against Helenius.
