    You mean Duran getting his arse handed to him after going 15 rounds with Hagler and losing a close decision? Remind me how many Tommy lasted. And you mean getting his arse handed to him by a primed Hearns, while Duran was 3 weight classes above his natural and into his 16th year and 83rd fight as pro? Yeah that'll be it.

    Duran got to see the final bell against Hagler, which was all he was there to do.
    I've seen Hagler doing after dinner stuff, saying that Duran "never caused him a serious problem" during their entire bout.
    The result of their fight was never, ever in doubt.
    The same couldn't be said for the Hearns fight, which was one of the greatest wars of ALL TIME.
    Tommy gave MMH one hell of a fight, coming close to stopping him on cuts before succumbing in a truly titanic battle between two monsters of the ring.
    Duran just doesn't warrant mentioning in the same breath as these two.
    And like I said, Cotto and Williams would both bounce huge punches off his beard all night long.
    Top 5/10/20 of all time?
    Don't make me laugh.
    Neither Cotto nor Williams could lay claim to such outlandish statements, and they're both better fighters than RD.

    haha, i think sweetpea is right. he's a troll. the thread has run it's natural course. no need for somebody new to wind us up every couple of pages. most of them don't believe what they're saying. if they do, we can't do much good.

    Yo....Ali had close fights with Norton who is in no way on or around his level of greatness. Leonard also had tough fights against "non descript" oppostion. All greats had less than stellar outings and less than stellar performances against other top notch oppostion. Boxers aren't super human...they are just human who happen to participate in a sport that sometimes has them doing things super human in natrue. But you are a little off. Well....more than a little Rose.:rofl

    He was a lightweight, and he fought one of the top 3 ww's ever h2h at ww (SRL), arguably the best lmw ever h2h at lmw (Hearns) and one of the top 3 mw's ever h2h at mw (Hagler).

    Mayweather was a superfeatherweight. How do you think he would do in his early-mid 30s fighting peak Whitaker at 140, peak Robinson at 147, and peak Hearns or McCallum at 154?
