Is my bias towards modern fighters that obvious?

Joke match-up. Even the Duran of today would beat Joe C. in one round by looking at him.

Calzaghe wins . I just don't know if by stoppage or by decision.

Calzaghe was no Barkley . With all respect to Barkley and disrespect to Calzaghe.
Calzaghe , unlike Barkley never fought at 160 . Who knows ? maybe at 168 Barkley would have decisioned Duran . Maybe the weight limit weakened him.
Did Barkley have Calzaghe's workrate ? I don't think so. I even think he had a somewhat weaker chin , but not sure and not by far.
Was Calzaghe ever hit as much as Barkley was in a fight ? true Barkley had the much better opposition , but he had only a few important wins , and even
then , part of them was by way of close decision .
It is clear to see Barkley had trouble making 160 and then 168.
I now think weight making troubles had a lot to do with his close points loss to Duran .
At 168 , if you take Barkley at the point when he just moved up to 168 , he would have won against Duran instead of lost.

Strangest thread ever, it's like it's in a parallel universe.

Duran would get spanked at super middle. He was not in Joes class at that weight, and thats not saying much for Calzahge.

Duran was a top ten ATG at all weights. Calzaghe is about number 7 SMW. Duran is maybe 6. It goes something like RJJ, Ottke, Toney, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Calzaghe. I have to favor Duran based on that. By knockout, of course. Around round 1. Maybe 2.

Pastiche!!! I thought you had gotten over the 'duran disease'?
Anyway.Calzaghe easy UD at 168. And a much harder fight if duran comes in at 156 or so. Still calz by decision.
P4P duran better, bolder and badder. UD 15 Roberto or late stoppage in a super fight...

I actually think this would be very close. I think it may look very similar to the Hopkins fight, which I scored 114-113 in favour of Hopkins. Calzaghe would win rounds by out working Duran, but Duran would make Calzaghe look stupid regularly. I went for Duran decision, but I fear that in real life the judges would give Calzaghe a clear UD just because he would throw 100 punches a round (landing 2 shitters).

Calzaghe by wide margins...in a decision.

After Ali, Duran is my favourite fighter of all time.

And he's a better boxer in nearly all aspects of the game than Calzaghe.

But he would be decisively defeated at this weight by Calzaghe.

    He very probably gets stopped.
