A basic lack of morality and decency ought to do it.:-(

Still, everyone knows that Reid won that fight, I never consider this fight as a 'loss', rather as one of his better victories.

Wouldn't quite call it as bad as the Williams fight though.

ottke built a career and a fortune on decisions as bad as these and it is what he will forever be remenbed for which is a shame ashe was a decent amateur with over 200 wins but will always be known as a cheat and rightly so

Ottke came back because Reid was getting warned for hitting Ottke. If Reid had looked like winning or stopping Ottke he would have be disqualified.

    I absolutely accept that.

As I say, I can't really recall but I think I scored the fight to Ottke as a direct result of the poor officiating. No K/D and a point deduction. The judges had to take that on board. Just that round alone was a 3 point swing to Ottke when obviously it shouldn't have been.

Not that my scoring mattered any when the official effectively stopped Reid from winning rounds.

Can anyone remember who showed this fight? Was it on one channel and then shown delayed on the BBC as well?

Reid won at least 3/4 of the first rounds, but the cards were probably already sorted before the fight. ironically, the rounds Reid clearly lost went to him towards the end of the fight, because Ottle had already won and they didn't want to make it too obvious! lol

I honestly did not know the breakdown of the rounds. It is the fight I always point to as the most blatant robbery in boxing, I had always thought it was down to poor refereeing rather than poor judging. Obviously the 112-117 would dispute that!
