I was just watching this espn sportscentury documentary on Rocky Graziano and i noticed an interesting part of it where a possible fight that could have taken place between Jake LaMotta and Rocky back when both were middleweight contenders was being discussed. The people speaking on Graziano seem to think that Rocky didnt want to fight jake and avoided him. Teddy Atlas thinks that lamotta would have destroyed Rocky. This is a great match up though, and would definitely be exciting. Two great middleweights with relentless attacking styles, heart and solid chins. This would be some fight! Who do you think wins and why? Sorry if there has already been a previous thread done on this fight.
it has already been done but that doesn't matter:good lamotta was better at everything than graziano apart from punching power and rocky would not be able to dent lamotta. graziano avoided this match-up that would have netted them a fortune. lamotta on points
i found an interesting fight fantasy matchup about lamotta vs graziano on a page called titlebout championship boxing and it gives a round by round action blow with lamotta coming out on top. very intersting. it also has a fantasy matchup witk barkley vs lamotta with jake coming out on top.
Both new each other from youth and I guess they at least sparred each other at one point or another. I´f pick Jake to beat Rocky. More a fan of Graziano though. I love a good right hand.
NOTHING was more exciting ta N.Y. fight fans than when Graziano-LaMotta was announced. The ONLY topic of conversation 24/7
I'd say the documentary is pretty much on point. Graziano wasn't too eager to get in the ring with LaMotta, and in a fight LaMotta would be the bigger, stronger and tougher man.
