The curve bells, the returns diminish... but the curving happens and the returns diminish above 6-2/220 rather than below it.
Where do you think it happens? And do you think the curve only diminishes, or does it reverse at some point?
Is it the same at minimum weight Difference in weight only matters round about the average weight of a human male? Seems a very flawed concept to me.
These days, if you make a ranked opponent into a human punching bag, it is generally assumed that you did a good job! Now either standard have slipped over the years, or the old timers are being held up to a higher standard of scrutiny!
Once you accept that there is a curve, it kind of undermines your whole argument. I could just argue that you were right in principle, but that you misjudged where the curve was!
Looks like a fun bag to hit. Curious, if you think the setup up is superior to the way other bags are set up, why can't I find a single video online of a professional boxer using that bag, or a similar set up? I can find at least ten videos of pros using the bag I used. And I don't think anyone would judge power alone based of how a bag swings, since you don't know the bag. I measure based on impact of the punch. That's the best anyone can do.
Peter had decent boxing skills, did well in the Olympics and was strong as a ox. In shape and still undefeated he was a very dangerous proposition. Peter was at his absolute best against WK, he came to win and fought accordingly, no stamina issues and scored at least one legitimate knock down and had WK on the run a few times, still he clearly lost. However , WK is close to 6'7 , 245, very skilled , hits about as hard in both hands as past major punchers in the division and he boxed not brawled Peter. The shots Peter took during the course of that fight were unreal, especially when they come from WK, now WK has some heart or panic issues but nobody ever has questioned his ability to punch extremely hard. To get to the point , if Peter can take Wk's power shots for 12 and wobbled only once in the last round then I dont see any evidence that a 185 pound come forward brawler is going to put a dent in him. The punishment Marciano would have to endure to win is unrealistic unless you live in lala land and believe Marciano punches as hard as WK......Marciano aint moving or bullying Peter around, no way no how, he simply would be clobbered senseless and as a matter of fact, his handlers would never let him near Peter because he is not balding, washed up , skinny and old. Marciano's direct attack would be his undoing, no doubt, Peter does not have to deal with a moving target, he will find the Italian right in front of him. As far as Peter's punching power, well, James Toney by common folklore has a iron chin.......but he hit the deck from a Peter jab......and to the best of my knowledge that is the only time Toney took a count when he fought at Heavyweight. Peter KO Marciano
So to come back to the crucial question, who did Peter actually stop? Why is he this incredible puncher/finisher?
Marciano was a far greater come forward hitter than Wlad. Of that there is no doubt. Few could generate the torque and leverage like he did. Wlad was a massive hitter as well , but he needs to be set and have the opponent lined up before him. He wasn't very good at throwing power shots while on the move. Peter had him on the move all throughout that fight.. In fact Wlad spent most of it running away and leaning on like some flesh blanket. He didn't get many opportunity's to set up power shots. He got one in late and when he did Peter looked like the inflatable tube man. Peter would present nothing but a walking heavy bag to the Rock. The heavy bags wild telegraphed swings would be anticipated , timed and countered with precision accuracy . Peter would be walking onto to brutal right hands thrown from a crouch position meaning doubling the impact of the Suzie Q And because Peter is so flat footed and has no head movement , he takes the full blunt force trauma of every shot Rocky throws into him.
he hasn't, he didn't. he is never in shape. in his absolute prime he carries a tub of lard round his waist. no, he gased out and got clubbed to death once helpless. he didn't come in in shape, he weighed in excess of 250lbs. pretty much all you wrote was a lie. Was that intentional?
I give Wlad a lot of credit for coming back from his previous loss, and defeating Peter. Would it be fair to say that he was still getting his confidence back?
