In a match-up of styles. Evander might edge out Rocky in a 15-Round decision. But Jack Dempsey, with his speed, might Knock-out Evander. Rocky with his low attacking style, would Knock-out Dempsey.
Except Evander rarely utilized his skills throughout an entire fight. He was always succeptable to slugging matches, especially in those days at cruiserweight and his first heavyweight reign. Qawi was all but 5' 6" and a decent puncher, and Foreman was, well Foreman, and Holyfield still traded against them in some unnecessary exchanges. If Holyfield had fought Marciano at any point in his cruiserweight/early heavyweight career he'd have been smashed to pieces. Now the Holyfield who used a consistant gameplan of boxing that beat Bowe, he would have have stood a chance.
Evander, all day everyday. Evander, has all the physical advantages in this match-up and has just as much heart and he is not cut prone.
No. Evander went life and death with Quawi. It would be a great fight, i can see Marciano winning due to Evanders propensity to brawl.
Holyfield is an inside fighter. Marciano is an inside fighter. Where's the confusion over styles? The only difference is size. Could Evander @ 5'11" beat Marciano or could Marciano @ 6'2" beat Evander?
All the reasons it would be an awesome fight, are all the reason's Marciano would win; Holyfield will stand and trade.
