    I agree 100%

  3. Rocky was 1 great champ but ,
    times have evolved .
Rocky was not rly good to cut off the ring , Mikey had 1 long hard and accurate left jab to,
keep rocky off . I pick , Mikey by KO.

I think that one thing that Marciano left in no doubt was his ability to break down technical boxers.

    This is his game.

The only reason people post crap like this is to diminish Marciano.

spinks fought holmes x2, tangsted, cooney and tyson thats 5 heavyweight fights. How does that match up to marcianos resume?

Holmes was old and tired and still beat him the second time.

cooney was a part time boxer at this time.

    Tangsted?

Tyson, well, we all know what hapened there, the same what marciano would do most proberbly. Micheal found his level at world heavyweight boxing. He could beat old guys and never was-er's.

Spinks was a good fighter but (as a heavyweight) no beter than 83-3 harry kid mathews who had about the same amount of fights at heavyweight. the only difference between spinks and mathews was that the jinx was part of the color TV generation.

Good fight this I think - Spinks was as game as they come - style match up wise I expect something like Marciano-Ez Charles II (without the freak split nose thing) - don't get me wrong Charles was a greater fighter for sure - but I see Spinks trying to give it everything back at Marciano and maybe causing him to blink a few times but Marciano as ever gets to him, grinds him down and clubs him to defeat in maybe 8 rounds - but fun fight to watch.

The Rock gets Michael late in the fight, a bit like the first Walcott fight. The Jinx well ahead on cards.

Spinks was more of a come at you type than Charles, and way slower, Marciano would have a fighter who's styley was right for him

Interesting fight .. the Spinks that fought Qwai makes this an interesting bout ..far more than an old Charles or Walcott ...Spinks, size, speed, reach and boxing skills would make this Rocky's toughest match up .... I'd like to see this one .. could go either way ..

I can see Spinks really troubling Rocky early on, but with Rocky's stamina and ability to break people down as the fight wears on, I'm thinking Rocky will win this via late round stoppage. However, if Spinks decides to just stand there and trade, I can see the stoppage coming a fair bit sooner.
