So was Gene Tunney, Max Schmeling, Floyd Patterson, Michael Moorer, Roy Jones and Chris Byrd too. I don't think it undervalued them did it?

Jimmy Ellis was a one time middleweight.

Holyfeild, Leon Spinks and Ali were lightheavyweight Olympians.

    Difference being:
Patterson ,Ali, Schmeling ,Tunney, Ellis, Holyfield,Byrd, were all better heavies than light heavies.

Maxim, Moore ,Charles, [Bivins predominantly,] were all better light heavies than heavies.

Moorer was better at heavyweight than he was at lightheavyweight?

I think it just helps prove that you can't rule out any guy successful at heavyweight who used to be a lightheavyweight on the grounds of having been a lightheavyweight. If your good enough your big enough especially if you pay your dues at the higher weight class.

If you want to continue you are going to have to admit I never claimed Marciano invented the jab feint, that you fabricated a stupid claim so you could be rude.

    Otherwise, you are the infant.

And I would argue Marciano could match or exceed the speed and movement of mid round Tyson. Tyson was only exceptionally faster and active in the first couple of rounds, it evens off after that.

Frank Bruno was always " ripped " with an unbelievable physique EVERY time he entered the ring. What the f**k has that got to do with anything?

A 34 year old man, could never possess the skills, fitness level, stamina, or indeed the reflexes, he possessed when he was 25. That has everything to do with biology, and sweet FA to do with sport.

So Hopkins was better at 25 than 34?

I didn't mean to infer that you claimed Marciano invented the technique just underlying that the technique is fairly basic and universal.

And no, I don't really want to continue.

I just watched some of the mid rounds of the Bonecrusher and Tucker fights... Tyson still had the speed advantage when he pressed to get inside.

I cannot believe people are so lost to think a bum like Tucker would beat Rocky Marciano.

And Tucker was getting clocked again and again by this basic technique because Tyson was good at it and Marciano was too.

By pressing inside in the mid rounds, you mean taking a few steps at a moderate speed that Marciano operated at. Tucker wasn't the most elusive mobile fighter after the first two rounds, he stood tall, bought feints, got hit, and clinched.

Not sure what speed advantage you can possibly see in that. But you have to play some angle to maintain this stance, you can't argue Tyson was quicker with the jab feint right cross in the mid and late rounds. Anyone with eyes can see he is not.

Yep. Another example is Sergio Martinez, was he better at age 25 or 34 years old when he knocked Paul Williams deader than a door knob
