One of them is getting brutally taken out. Probably Valdez wins out, as he was more durable, but with the Hawk can NEVER be counted out in a slugfest with his unholy power.
Valdez is tough for anybody, but if Jackson can catch him cleanly, the fight could turn really quick.
Valdes could bank enough to spark Jackson and had a good chin and was pretty slick from the waist up. On the other hand ... Jackson could bang big time. Good fight. I´d pick Valdes.
Valdez could withstand Jackson, but Jackson couldn't withstand Rocky.Plus,Rocky was a better boxer and naturally a bit bigger.Valdez by ko.
Let's think, a slow-starting, static contender with average D against arguably the biggest one-shot hitter of all time who comes out of the traps faster than a speeding bullet... but then Valdez fought Monzon! So he wins.
Could go either way with Jackson, but I think JJ gets well underrated, he didn't quite get the right fights after McCallum to see what he could do against the very elite of all time, although his wins over Norris/Graham are excellent ones. Valdez failed somewhat against the very best. Jackson was past prime by the time the much bigger McClellan goto him but he still really hurt GMAN and some say thats where his near fatal injuries started. Valdez seems very solid and hard to stop but Jackson's power was unreal
Two of my favourites. Valdez stopped Briscoe so the man could hit with the best of them. JJ hits cleaner but I don't think he can soak it up as much. I think Valdez would eventually pull Jackson's house down around 8
I'll go with Rod Valdez..... Valdez was solid at 160.... Plus, his beard was slightly better at 160 than J.J.'s was.... A brutal war while the fight lasts.... Valdez is left standing in the end.... MR.BILL
Yes Jackson could take Valdez out if he connected..but he wouldn't. Valdez was a class above the Hawk..I love the Hawk, but that's the truth. It would be over in 3...Valdez would be all over him..realizing the gravity of the situation of having a dangerous guy like JJ in there with him. Valdez had skills as well as power and would be too much for Jackson...ko or tko in 3.
I think Jackson would hurt Valdez badly early, forcing Valdez to fight harder quicker than he normally does. Valdez by TKO in four or five.
