It was the second fight S_S, according to the poster of the vid, who happens to be Cuban and a big fan of Cuban boxers. Rodriguez seemed to clearly get the better of the action in a competitive bout, and according to the vid, this was the match held on March 21st, 1963, which was when they met for the second time.

This is the THIRD fight, no discussion. I have both 2nd and 3rd fight, and I have just checked. The Cuban fan probably thinks of the fight as the second titlefight, bypassing their first non title fight.

Your right, this was the 3rd bout between the two. Here's a picture showing referee Jimmy Devlin.

    http://www.antekprizering.com/griffithrodriguez4063.html

17 writers scored the bout for Rodriguez, six for Griffith, and one had it even.

Rodriguez was one of my favorite fighters. Years later I became friends with Emile and I told him that I never rooted for him because I liked Luis. BUT I also told him that now I watch the tapes, and I do. Emile is a real nice guy BUT he is not doing so good mentally, as he was hit with a baseball bat years ago and was in the hospital for months. He also has some trouble walking at times.

In January, his longtime manager, and my good friend, Howie Albert passed away and I gave the Eulogy with Emile, Gil Clancy, Juan LaPorte, Lou Duva, Al Certo, among others looking on.

Thanks for the clarification mate, and that's sad to hear about Emile's health.
