After beating Yafai, Gonzalez seems to have been elevated to Super Champ. If Yafai would have beaten Gonzalez would he have been elevated to Super champ i doubt it.
There were no other titles on the line the WBA are a joke.
Its also not as though Gonzalez is a WBA favorite (Ruslan Chagaev) he hasn't held a version of there title since 2012.

It was said before the fight it was for the "super" title. It was done so they could get Andrew Moloney out of the way for future unifications, hes now the "Regular" champion.

Yafai was already elevated to super champ. This is not another Broner type situation

There was nothing super champ about Yafai. More like a average Champ really.

Kal was already a Super Champion wasn't he? Anyway..

Kal Yafai is in a really difficult place now, if he steps up (Hearn mentioned weight issues) then he is in a division with..

Inoue, Nery, Donaire, Casimero, Oubaaii, Rigindeux, Tete.. and a few others.

If he stays where he is then does anybody see him beating Roman in a rematch? I don't.

The rest of the division looks tough after his latest performance and the fact weight issues have been highlighted.. Estrada, Wangek, Ancajas, Ioka.

Hearn is going to have to work some magic somehow, Kal is 30 and was just on the end of a beating with no obvious path to another world title.

Hearn will bin him off now anyway.
As stated weight issues will be a real problem as if he moves up he gets iced by pretty much all the top 10.
He also isn't a big ticket seller so there are no 'BIG' domestic showdowns to be had.
    He should just retire.

For a fighter in the lower weights he's done alright for himself, really just a statistic for Matchroom to say how many world champions they have.
