I have always thought Mitchell was better than Cook but they wouldn't fight because they were friends but since Cook lost to Martinez maybe Mitchell could get the fight. How do you see this fight going?
Mitchell UD, although he will have some tricky moments in the fight to get past, i feel he can outbox martinez (like cook was) and has a much more solid chin than cook to be able to take martinez' punches.
On paper it would look like an easier nights work but Mitchell can bang and he's got a solid chin and heart, I didn't see the Cook fight but even prior to it I heard Martinez doesn't have a good chin, so you can make a case for Mitchell TKO/KO depending on whether he can get to Martinez before getting stopped himself.
imo mitchell takes martinez out by round 6 or 7. mitchell is the best british prospect in boxing. he has never been on the deck and took johanneson bombs, so cant see him getting ko. hopefully we should have a new wbo champion if this fight happened
i think Mitchell would win, i think hes got the style and power.. it'd be a hard fight though... the longer it goes the more chance he has of loosing
His best chance but still a real hard task. Mitchell is at least 4/5 fights away from facing good european fighters. Eventually he can move move to fringe contender status.
i would love to see this fight i was hoping khan would lose saturday night as this would have meant warren focusing more on mitchell, he looked superb against johannseon in what proved to be the fight of the year and did a good job on estrada even though he only got to vegas 4 days before the fight ,estrada went the distance with martinez in december which gave the form a boost, i heard mitchell had a wrist problem and that the reason he has been out of action so i feel he would need an easy 8 rounder then a couple more fights before being ready to fight martinez a fight i see mitchell winning with a late stoppage
he didnt look that great against johannseon, johannseon gave him lots of problems and he was taking huge ammounts of punishment in the mid rounds in the later rounds he was getting outboxed against estrada he was given lots of problems he got the stoppage win but it was a premature one, his power isnt as good as his record indicates IMO
johanseon only gave him problems as mitchell allowed himself to get dragged into johanesons type of fight in the mid rounds and i was ringside that night and although mitchell was a fool to himself to allow that to happen it did tell me that mitchell could take a shot, i partly agree with what you say about estrada but mitchell wasnt given the right prep time for that fight he only arrived 4days before and that aint enough time to get over jetlag etc yet that was warrens choice
Mitchell would have learned from the mistakes he made in the previous fights. I just pray that this fight gets made ie as the o2 arena, at £30 a ticket I will defo be there. would this fight sell tickets imo it would and mitchell has been there before in front of 20.000 and come through a war. please make this fight frank warren
