Sad...I still hate how I can mention fighters that we talk about every day on here to people I kick it with...and they don't have a clue what i'm speaking on. But they know Usain Bolt! hahaha...damn.

Oh so it wasnt anything to do with losing twice on the trot to a better middleweight that had his number??? Jermain Taylor ring any bells?? Of course it was just coincidence that he then after two losses at his division he went up to light heavyweight...he was always gonna do that anyway wasnt he?:bbb

Looking back on Hopkins last 6 fights I do actually see 3 losses!!

my thing is this....when roy fights, people tune in and i'm not saying people know the sheikas, lacy's and henshaws of the world...but the point is that people talk about roys comeback and get excited and remember his fights.....

when bhop fights, people dont really tune in, and if they do all we get is negative feedback....first off, about his racism and his "the world is against me" cries are annoying as ****.....then, he finishes off by stinking up the joint.....

imo, if anybody deserves the bigger pay, it's roy and not bhop...i think boxing paydays (in situations like this) should be about who's more deserving and who will bring the fans in and really try hard to give us a great fight..and in this fight, it's a no brainer ...roy jones will do just that.....

He left because who else could he fight at Mid? His money chances were at higher weights also. No one would have paid to see him fight Miranda or Pav.

I am glad to see Roy pushing for this fight. I dont believe he has a chance but a lot of people do so that makes it marketable and we've been waiting for this thing to happen for 10 years.

If Roy wants to continue fighting might as well it be against Hopkins. The rivalry would bring in money. I hope Hopkins gets to fight Adamek first at cruiser and then Hops-Roy at maybe a 180-185 or so catchweight. I dont really care about Dawson fighting either Roy or Hopkins.

If he was the man at middleweight he'd have still called the money. But he was no longer the man - Taylor was. 2nd best in a division cant call the best money. Thats why he went up. He had no choice.

Bernard Hopkins: Money has been the issue for the past ten years with us.

Roy Jones: How much will you give me

BH: I will make it a 60:40 split

RJ: How about 60 to the winner and 40 to the loser

BH: Now you want to make a contest out of it. I don’t need Roy Jones. It could wind up in the judges hands and you never know what will happen.

    RJ: You pick the judges.

BH: If RJ will take 40, we can get it done before the year is out. But if not…

RJ: He already has an L on his record from me and he is trying to make me take 40 so he can prove that I am the lesser man. But if will make it 60 to the winner and 40 to the loser I will take my chances with that.

BH: Do you think I would make more money fighting Roy Jones than I would a young stud like Adamek or Dawson?

RJ: Bernard doesn’t want to fight me. Why would he want to fight me? He’s having fun now at this point in his career. He doesn’t want to take that gamble.

BH: Is Roy willing to go on record to take 40% win, lose or draw?
Show Producer: How about the winner-take-all?

RJ: That’s even better for me.

Show Producer: Bernard are you there?

RJ: No. When you said winner-take-all you ran him off the phone. He’s been doing that to me for 5 years now. He disappeared. That’s what happens to me. every time.

MY SIMPLE QUESTION IS : What the **** is Bernard's problem ? If Jones is delusional enough to take the fight, in many people's mind, then maybe Hopkins doesn't truly believe he can beat Jones, if he doesn't jump on the offer right ****in' now !!

I love Hopkins but since 2001, every time they started negociations, he was never playing fair game from the get go.... Winner takes all or 60 to the winner is an excellent offer IF YOU'RE CONFIDENT TO WIN !!!

Entertaining, even though it was a little hard to decipher exactly what Jones was saying at times!! I genuinely think that BHOP does'nt want this fight though. It's got "banana skin" written all over it. Hopkins, in many people's eyes, has overtaken RJJ on the ATG list. Beating him now, doesn't enhance that in anyway based on recent performances. But imagine if he lost........

Bernard Hopkins was on the Calvin Murphy radio show last night and an associate of Roy Jones Jr. got hold of Roy so he called in to join the conversation that soon turned into a fight negotiation. Jones came to the conclusion that “Bernard is scared,” and here are some highlights…
That’s what happens to me. every time.

This is very interesting and it shows Hopkins is terrible of business. Did he just said "Will i get more money fighting Jones then a young studs like Adamek or Dawson?" In which Hopkins trying to say he'll get more money fighting either Adamek or Dawson then a fight with Jones lol. If Jones vs Hopkins rematch happens it be on hbo ppv in which Hopkins will get more money. But if Hopkins fight either Adamek or Dawson, it be on regular hbo in which Hopkins will get lesser money.

Oh and Jones told Hopkins doing that arguement, "You (Hopkins) pick the judges"

Is Jones a shot fighter? Yup but Hopkins is not at his best since he's 44 years old.

Like i said from another thread, at this point both Hopkins and Jones are not good ppv drawers. But Jones is still a top ticket sells in which many fans to go to his fights vs fighters he will likely win easy while Hopkins can't sell at all. In fact without the names of De la hoya, Trinidad, Taylor or even Pavlik, Hopkins is not a good draw at all.

If Hopkins believes he can beat Jones then why not take the winner takes all? Jones did say Hopkins can pick the judges if it goes to the scorecard.
