Ruiz was one tough son of a *****, not many ppl looked good beating him and only one guy has ever whipped him ie. Tua when Ruiz was coming into his prime. I dont think any lighter weight fighter whips him.
Archie Moore would've belted 7 shades of **** out of Ruiz. Foster would've been too nimble for a plodder like the Quiet man. Michael Spinks...I don't even want to go there...
I agree they all beat him but i have never seen Ruiz smacked down (whipped) over the stretch of a fight except for the bombs Tua landed on him. He is one tough ***** and a annoying style to face.
I don't think any of them would bomb him out, due to size, nothing else. But there'd be some sustained beatings dished out.
Ruiz would have murdered spinks. Sure he beat Holmes, but John Ruiz is a far more explosive and dynamic fighter.... You can't even compare the two really IMO:yep I actually think Ruiz would have given Moore an ugly and tough fight, due to his huggy bear style more so then anything else. Its easy to look at Ruiz and think he is a peice of ****, trust me, I do it all the time. When you look at his record though, he made some good fighters struggle to beat him, and had some decent albiet contraversial wins against Golota, Holyfield and Rahman, including a win he IMO should have got against Valuev. Which is what makes Jones total dominance still impressive.
I don't really think he'd have had much trouble at all really, if we're talking about Moore in and around his prime. He fought better fighters than Ruiz and got the results. I would also rank Ruiz' performance against Jones as one of the dumbest I've seen. Trying to outbox a master boxer??! WTF?
hahahaha LMAO... Yeah it was a pretty silly strategy. I don't think he would give Moore a close fight, more so just make the fight really ugly due to his grapple style. Stylistically, Ruiz would be able to make it an ugly fight against Moore. Where as against Foster and Spinks IMO it would be more difficult.
