Charlie is 55-1 (55-2 if you count the Hartley DQ), 2 of Roy's previous three opponents were all coming off losses. Courtney Fry had lost 2 on the bounce, 1 via stoppage. Hany Atiyo was coming off a 4 round KO loss. Willie Williams was coming off a win but he'd been stopped in a round in his fight prior to that and was 2-6-1 in his last 9. And the guy Roy's fighting on Saturday is coming off 2 round first round KO loses. Charlie Z is a step up for Roy and truth told not that far of a step down from the litany of janitors, sanitation workers, parking attendants and traffic cops he was feasting on during his prime. :deal
Kovalev showed a fine chin vs Pascal and was hit with a genuine chin checker. He took it well, and recovers fast. In 200+ amatuer fights Kovalev was only stopped once. I think his chin is at least solid. Roy Jones had a very suspect jaw. While he has a speed edge, he's getting hit in this fantasy match up, and won't be able to take it. Kovalev via TKO.
I would like to add, to Charlie Z's credit, I have seen him take some big bombs from much larger men, including Wilder.. I have never seen him do a single chicken dance.. It would appear at least that Charlie Z is an iron chinned warrior.:yep

Charlie was not on wobbly legs at all, did you see how he jumped up shortly after taking that shot?? Can you imagine Roy there? He would have been on the floor asleep while the Jones, Wilder posses had a big fight tripping over him. I am disappointed with team Zelenoff, I think they should have shown him some support, taking on someone like Wilder.:-(
He was back up in seconds and totally clear headed. Charlie has granite whiskers and ***** the size of a blue whale. Coach Merk would still be leaning over Roy with the smelling salts now had Wilder detonated a shot like that on Roy's glass mandible. lol They know what Charlie's capable of.
