yeah i didnt read that whole thing...people have been boxing for so long its real hard to pick the ten best. he is an atg. top ten...maybe?? who knows. i love rjj and he has been my man since i was a little kid. there are some sick you tube vids of him. its unreal how good he was. unreal that rico actually posted on a rjj thread and didnt use those two words...u feelin ok bro??
He cannot be close. He does not have the resume. He just doesn't and he does not deserve anything below top 25 p4p ever. He always handpicked his opponents.
John Ruiz may be boring but beating John Ruiz is a feat. He's done and won a lot in his career. Im not saying Roy Jones is top 10 atg but he wouldn't of been able to fight LL anyway. LL turned down the fight (Not because he was scared)
:good yes it is. rjj was 193lbs!!!! say what you will about ruiz but it takes balls for someone who weighs that much, who supposedly has a glass jaw and handpicks his opponents to get in the ring with a true hw. i suggest looking at some of those youtube vids of him. no one was beating him during his prime. no one was close in fact
he is at 27th imo 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Henry Armstrong 3. Muhammad Ali 4. Joe Louis 5. Sam Langford 6. Harry Greb 7. Ezzard Charles 8. Willie Pep 9. Roberto Duran 10. Archie Moore 11. Benny Leonard 12. Ray Leonard 13. Pernell Whitaker 14. Bob Fitzsimmons 15. Joe Gans 16. Carlos Monzon 17. Barney Ross 18. Jack Johnson 19. Marvin Hagler 20. Jimmy Wilde 21. Mickey Walker 22. Sandy Saddler 23. Julio Cesar Chavez 24. Alexis Arguello 25. Rocky Marciano 26. Gene Tunney 27. Roy Jones Jr 28. Lennox Lewis 29. Evander Holyfield 30. Bernard Hopkins he is in no position to retire after the tarver fight...but if he indeed retire i have him at 23th
i coulda swore he weighed in at 193...either way...still an amazing feet for someone who was winning golden gloves at such a low wieght
He did weigh in at 193 on a scale that never balanced. The guy who did the weighing even said he made a mistake. Mackie Shilstone weighed Roy that morning and had him at 200lbs. Roy also on video got a scale after the weigh in and took off his shoes, shirt and hat and weighed 199.
Way I look at it, if Duran is in the top ten then Jones should be as well...Duran had a weak resume when you think of it in terms of fights that he actaully won.
