Ezzard Charles is the only LHW in history I favour to beat Jones except maybe Spinks. The amazingly fast 1-2, movement, timing, foundamentals, rangyness and skills is just too much as it would be for any LHW in history. Roy Jones reliance on the left hook, and comparitively to Charles has a weak jab and straight right, which I believe loses him this 1 although you'd be crazy to think he wouldn't have his moments, be a handful, win rounds, and do some damage. I like Charles better in combinations and in the trenches to pull it out. So I pick Charles but there is the possibility RJJs hand and footspeed would be too much for Charles and if this is the case he can sit back and counter or hit and get out before being countered. Winning the early rounds and winning out an a UD after being broken down somewhat late Greatest 2 LHWs of all time
Charles was significantly better and hit harder than anyone Jones ever faced. I don't see how Jones could handle his power, physically or mentally. IMO, Charles would shut him down the way he did to Charley Burley, and at any point, Charles might take him out.
