Luf, what got my ire up is you did post "in your distorted mind", refereeing to me...Look it up...I am by nature a "counterpuncher" , not wishing for endless bickering, but to be called "distorted" is not an endearing term...:hi:
I think this would be a great fight. Two great Champions, though Roy would really struggle to make the weight, and i think that this might have a serious effect on his performance, unless the weights were made at say Realistically, you would need a catch weight of maybe 155 which would make Roy too inexperienced and not strong enough at the weight. If you allowed Roy to come in at say 160, it would give him a big weight advantage. Still, Jack is a great, so it wouldnt be that easy. Dempsey showed a great chin and was very difficult to stop or catch, but he could be knocked out as evidenced by the foul pivot blow landed by Le blanch and also Bob Fitzsimmons. JOnes, i think was probably more dominant than Dempsey but he was also probably less durable. Both were near impossible to tag in their prime. I tend to think that Dempsey causes Jones plenty of problems, but Jones' superior speed does eventually enable him to win a razor thin decision between (imo) two underated greats.
I compared him with Marciano as he has the upperhand until his legs become too heavy to keep running. Also Marciano in his prime was 187, Roy has fought at 199 and said in lhw fights he got in at fights around 185. Their weight(When Roy moved up) is similar enough to be compared.
Well to be labelled biased and a dempsey hater for matching him with a similar sized opponent is not too endearing neither :good
'In the ring' not at the weigh in. Most of them were 180-195. Even Clinton Woods who isn't that big at the weight was 193 in 1 of his fights after being 175 at the weigh in
Well, they did. Take your disparaging images somewhere else :hi: And PP Woods was pretty long for the weight.
