So did he handpick all his opponents or not.

And Ruiz Right, we all honestly know, and did that RJJ was never going to be a true heavyweight champion. Imagine him Vs Lewis or Klitschko ffs.

Obviously what I meant was it would have been easy for RJJ to find another woods to beat up on, but he didnt, he went and fought a heavyweight. Not the best heavyweight, but thats not the point.

roys power and speed in his prime was almost insurmountable, from middle to light heavy i cant picture anyone that could beat him.

    Bob Foster
    Ezzard Charles
    Archie Moore
    Michael Moorer
Floyd Patterson (Could very well do 175lbs)

    To name a few.

Lots. Bob Foster would make the cleanest job of it.

Jones's niche weight is 168. That's not a weight with a lot of pedigree. If we allow guys who passed through the weight into the argument, guys like Lloyd Marshall, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore have a good chance, though there are a lot of unknowns.

An experienced Patterson is basically a nightmare for Jones at 175.

    I agree.

Even the version that took Archie Moore out when he was 21 would be a betting favorite over Roy Jones. (In my opinion)

Someone with a glass jaw who is a natural SMW doesn't go 12 rounds with a natural HW. His chin was shot when he was physically destroyed from moving down from HW. Hopkins, Toney, Hill and Ruiz are not below those on your list in terms of H2H. Jones beat them all convincingly.

John Ruiz is a horrible "fighter" if you even want to call what he did fighting. Roy handpicked Ruiz who at the time was the worst beltholder and had not had a KO in over 3 years leading up to the Jones fight. Roy knew what he was doing. He was cherry picking a paper belt at Heavyweight against a guy with no skill and who was not a puncher for a Heavyweight.

the guys I listed and it was just a few there are more would knock Roy Jones out. Foster vs Jones would be laughable.

For those who think that Hagler beats Jones:

Hagler LOST in his phyiscal prime TWICE to decent, but far from great, opponents.

Roy Jones against anyone on Hagler's record: Roy (prime) wins every fight, probably all by KO if he wants to

Hagler against Toney, Hopkins, Hill, Hall, Ruiz: Hagler has a chance in everyone but most likely loses a few.

Roy's level of athleticism would give anyone, including Bob Foster, serious trouble. Look at Foster's fights, he was amazing in his own time, but all sports evolved in terms of athletic ability and Roy Jones was the greatest athlete ever to put on gloves.
