The knockdowns in the opening round were a thing of beauty, its like you're watching a fighter with superhuman athleticism and like Richard Hall had never faced a world class opponent in his career. The referee was rightly criticised imo, Hall was being used as a punch bag.

Exactly Imperial, Richard Hall is a bigger cheat than Roy Jones Jnr but no one seems to acknowledge that, Richard Hall always seems to get a free pass :deal

I love the old guys (one of the few in General Forum that do) and I agree. Maybe Spinks and Charles. I'd favour Jones though.

Agree with that. I would expect Jones to be slightly favored, with that said, I'd happily put money on Spinks as the under. :yep

Hi mate, you have great knowledge, and I enjoy reading your posts, especially in the classic forum.

I'm 33, and I missed Spinks's peak at 175. I've recently been watching his fights on YouTube. He was awesome.

I just wanted to ask you a question.

Roy's absolute peak was at 168 and not at 175 in my opinion. I think the best version of Roy was either 1994 or 1995.

Obviously the 168 division hasn't been around for that long.

    So the question is,

Would your opinion change if it was a 1995, 26 year old, 168 version of Roy fighting Spinks, instead of a 96-2002 175 version?

I would say that a 168 version of Roy, that was giving up weight, would have had more of a chance than a 175 version of him fighting Spinks.

Do you think he'd have less chance of winning at 168 etc?

    Thanks mate.

Actually Spinks was largely a part of the "weigh in the day before" era too so he would be rehydrating a ton. He was a huge light heavyweight.

    I don't worry :D

It's just quite impressive the knowledge you have. Better than at least 95% of the posters on the general forum it seems.. including my 30 year old ass ;)

You come across as an extremely intelligent guy in his 30's - 40's.

When I was 16, I was an idiot!

    Do you box mate?
