O stick with boxing if your joints are a mess. MT is a whole different world, too many strikes on joints.

Fight should've been stopped earlier than it was, but Roy's finishing assault of Hall was incredible. Beastly display of speed, explosiveness, power, and accuracy.

Apologies comrad but i will not allow a 16 year old to post on a Team Elite superthread due to the industrial language and the fact that a 16 year old is severly lacking knowledge in the sport of boxing.

BTW anyone who believes that Micheal Spinks beats the Roy Jones that fought Richard Hall is living in a dream world.

Spinks by brutal KO. Jones wouldn't even make my top 10 Lt. Heavyweights head to head (or especially in terms of accomplishments). Generally just a bit too small and relatively lacking in his best attributes (particularly power). He also tended to fight more flat-footed there for the most part. These small changes would've caused big issues against the true cream of the Lt. Heavy crop. And when factoring in his questionable durability there's a lot of potential for disaster. That's not to say he's incapable of beating his fair share or springing some upsets, though.

At Middle and Super Middle it's a different story.

Great thread EG, and great to see Roy get the credit he deserves for a stunning performance. Richard Hall was one of the top LHW's at the time, who pushed Darius all the way twice. Roy simply toyed with him, with incredible athleticism, speed and power, Roy truly was superman in the ring that night :deal

This truly was the best of Roy Jones, he was never quite the same again after this fight, I wonder why that was? Perhaps Jones absorbed more punishment than was evident? Maybe Roy lost interest in boxing after this fight? Maybe there's another explanation, What do people think?

That's shocking to me. For some reason I thought you were late 20s/early 30s.

Never would have guessed 16. Your posting style does not suggest you are that young at all. :good

Yeah...and he beat Dariusz up pretty good too. Hence, why we say he struggled. Roy, on the other hand, won every second of every round until the stoppage. He didn't need to fight Hall twice.

LOL@ the clueless delusional human beings in this thread who thinks Roy h2h beats every 175 in history..

Spinks will knock him out into a 25 minute coma. We are talking about a 6'3 ATG LHW with brutal power in both hands, very good boxing skills, very good jab, elite finishing abilities, and a very confusing style to figure out.

Charles and Moore will both destroy Roy and no it won't be 'competitive'. Roy is a 168 GOAT .. that's not saying **** though. 168=School with 400 people. 175= University with 25,000 students.

Wasn't flirting brah, lots of dudes troll and post **** all the time and generally act about 12 years old on here. orriray59 doesn't have that kind of posting style, hence why I was surprised.

People tell me I talk/act like an old man, and I'm only 20, so it's kind of surprising when you come across stuff like that.

As for RJJ in this fight, yeah, he looked awesome. Still thought the way he annihilated Griffin in the rematch was his best 175 pound performance though.
