dude this entire thread is sad. calzaghe has much right to be mentioned along jones as does gary lockett against ray robinson

calzaghe beat a shot jones. joey archer beat a shot ray robinson. does it mean anything? No

calzaghe is the best smw ever (on resume and longevity) but never, EVER, EEEEVER stood a chance against a prime jones. move on guys. it's over.

I've avoided this thread for days knowing it would be garbage.

You deserve credit for arguing on the side of reason.

Rico, I have watched every Roy fight growing up, there is no way he hit Griffin while he was down intentionally to get out of the fight. It was close up to that point, in the fight you could tell Roy was the better fighter, but Griffin's awkward style was giving Roy fits.

One ref had Griffin up by a point at the start of the 9th, the other two had Roy up, (one of them by two i think) I saw Roy getting more and more effective as the fight went on, had Griffin hurt and down in the 9th..

Had Griffin made it out of the 9th, which might not have happened Roy would have entered the 10th up on all the judges scorecards. There is no way he did that to get out of a loss, no way.

He said he did it because he didn't see that Griffin was down all the way which was bull****, he did it out of frusturation

Ok lets flip it, who's chin did Calzaghe find that was as hard to hit as a prime Jones? No ones, he never fought a fighter even close to a prime Jones.

Roy Jones had elite power in his prime, Calzaghe never faced Roy's speed or power, how he would have dealt with it is unknown.

What we can say is Roy was more tested and proven than Calzaghe, who I think is a great fighter, but still raises alot of question marks for me.

Calzaghe would have beaten Jones any time. Hell, Jones was afraid of Michalczewski!

On the performance of that Montell Griffin beating, Jones beats Calzaghe ALL DAY.

Ignorant, biased Roy-boys who only love Roy, and don't watch boxing. Sad, really. They do him a disservice with their fan-boy attitudes.

Jones wins a points decision. 8 rounds to 4 or something like that.

At least this is reasonable - the Roy-Boys think that Jones would have just toyed with Calzaghe, a guy with all the tools to cause him serious trouble.

what a silly comment, no one has claimed Calzaghe had one punch power, but yes he could dig a bit in his younger years and certainly had the ability to put people on the deck, i understand you like Roy but ****:blood
