his "skills" looked brighter next 2 his dimmer faded opponents . Marshall's skilled might have looked limited due 2 him fighting d best available while often giving in size/age/both and maybe even other factors such as preparation time , etc . swap their opposition in its entirety as it was exactly and some may get d opposite impressions about their skills , capabilities , etc . Marshall was also a smaller man than Jones himself .
not disputing their competition but if you have eyes, than you can see jones' quality. critiquing his resume is one thing, critiquing his talent is another
Washed up welterweight Lou Brouillard floored Lloyd and something about his gangly style reminds me of Merque Sosa who Roy blazed outta dare in no time flat.
i didn't expect this display of ignorance from u . c d video of d 1st post of this thread : http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327849
By prime Lloyd Marshall you mean the one who knocked out Ezzard Charles. That version of Marshall would shatter Roy's glass jaw with the first jab he landed.
I gotta agree. His "gangly" style is exactly wrong for the power and speed of Jones. Something tells me this won't go too long.
Marshall was a hell of a fighter but Jones was even better at 168 Lbs. Jones was very fast, accurate, hard to hit once, almost impossible to hit clean with two punches in a row, and he had good power in both hands. He was in excellent shape and usually looked like he could go another 12 rounds even in a decision win. I'll take Jones by late round stoppage.
Lloyd Marshall was probably past his prime when he stopped Ezzard Charles and even moreso when Charles stopped him . He also beat Archie Wright and Charley Burley although Wright stopped him in their rematch . I do agree that on these 3 wins alone he surpasses everything Roy Jones did and I believe that if he beat those 3 d way he did , Roid Jones wouldn't have been 2 much of a problem 4 him .
