I generally agree with your scoring and i agree that the fight was slightly more competitive than most people made out. Dawson would be a 3 -1 favourite against Jones, Dawson has the work rate, speed and timing to land on Jones too frequently. The result would probably be pretty similar to the Dawson - Tarver fight. Jones would probably win more rounds than he did against Calzaghe, but he would also sustain more damage. Calzaghe's sloppy offensive front is what saved Jones from a serious beating, Calzaghe was content with punching Roy's guard a lot more than he should have. Dawson would have the accuracy and timing to pearce Jones guard more often. Though with that said it would be interesting to see how Dawson would deal with Roy's power when he inevitably landed.
Jones is one of my favorite fighters of all time, but Dawson is to young and to hungry for Jones. Besides Jones is to trigger shy to win. Don't see this fight going 12 rounds. Prime Jones beats Dawson though.
Take away his reflexes and some of his tremendous speed, and Roy should still be able to pound away against the tops of the sport. But he's hasn't and likely won't do such because he is trigger shy. It really is a shame.
Hard question to answer. Roy still has the raw physical power and speed to stop guys, he just doesn't have the necessary mental strength to apply it.
Roy's power has seriously diminished. He couldn't even stop Tito. I doubt he would be able to serioulsy hurt Dawson. People act like Dawson's chin is complete glass, it's not. Harding, and Adamek were bot pretty big punchers. Both could only manage flash knock downs against Dawson.
He might not go down easily. But he gets rocked easily....Roy hasn't proved that he has a killer instinct in his last few fights however.

i'm sorry but this thread is ridiculous i hope you're kidding me.......either you didn't see the fight, or you really just dont know what you're talking about you think because Roy won the 1st 2 rounds against Calzaghe, and Calzaghe gave him one......you think he can compete with Chad Dawson??? that **** don't even sound right
I saw the fight. I think Roy won as many as 4 rounds + the KD (I gave him rounds 1,2 and 5)...I'm not alone on this. I think Roy can still bang. I also think he can be deadly accurate. What would happen if Dawson was clocked with some of Roy's power shots? Personally, I'd like to see.
