Jones would pot shot, and run his way to an easy unanimous decision. He wouldn't sit down on a single punch.

People faster than Spinks weren't able to time Jones before he faded too much. Spinks is losing a wide UD.

RJJ WIDE decision or Late KO.

TOO FAST, too eluzive, too un-orthodox.

Spinks is clearly a notch above Jones. He'd have everything inside and outsdie of the ring that Jones had. At 175 he was mentally stronger.

If this is 15 rounds Jones isn't going to be able to run or concentrate for the full 45 minutes. Spinks would control with his jab and use his infamous elbow-smash whenever he gets chance.

Jones either loses a close but clear decision or gets sparked.

Spinks would be considered another bum on Jones record because he'd be made to look like nothing. The footwork and balance disparity puts them light years apart, before we even consider the huge speed differentiatial. Spinks has a punchers chance but he wouldn't land any money punchers, Jones slipping ability probably sees him being unable to land his jab, whenever he throws he'll be countered very hard and will likely either go into a shell or get ko'd. Jones speed, accuracy and timing would see him land his best shots time and against Spinks leaky defense. People forget Jones could brutalise opponents, Spinks is no different, if Jones goes after Spinks like he did at times he could KO him, if Spinks goes into shell and Jones isn't in an aggressive mood he'd probably lose a 15-0 shut out decision

RJJ DOMINATED a canny few Grade A guys as-good-as or better then Spinks at light-heavy, e.g Tarver, Griffin And MCcallum.

We know why Jones didn't operate in this class, and so does Jones.

The Tarver who exposed Roy's paper-weight chin was not good enough to lace Mike's gloves. The difference between Antonio and Michael is light years further than that between Roy's prime and the Roy who was over the brow of the hill in that fight.

Other than his chemical engineered speed Roy does nothing better than Michael does. Qawi would have spanked Jones and sent him home without his dinner money. Roy wouldn't even train at the same gym as these guys let alone fight them.

Spinks won't be intimidated or exasperated by Jones. Neither will he psychologically unravel when he lsoes a few rounds in the early going. Unlike Roy he could perform on the biggest fight of his career after breaking down in his dressing room with his daughter. Jones on the other hand would blame his defeat on every other member of his family bar himself and then say they usual "only God can judge me" nonsense.

This is essentially an all-time great with an iron will against a front-runner with track marks...

I wouldn't say a wide UD but I do agree with you. Roy has too much speed for Spinks at light-heavy. Spinks could win a UD in this fight because his combination punching is better than Jones IMO. One thing I'd bet on is Jones getting sloppy and overconfident. He'd start doing the Ali/Apollo Creed, shuckin' and jivin', hands by the waist in arrogance. Spinks would capitalize on Jones' laziness with counterpunches and this is his best chance to win. If Jones doesn't fool around, he wins 8 to 4 over 12 rounds.
