Bailey...I've already gone over this with you on the Roy "stepping up" against Tarver. Tarver had lost to Harding(the same guy you said was "appaling") and was losing to him again before the KO. What about his other wins before? Montell Griffin? The same guy Roy had blasted out in one round 6 years earlier? Reggie Johnson? The same guy Roy won every round against? Johnson? He lost to Clinton Woods. Julio Cesar Gonzalez, and Derrick Harmon(more appalling opposition) All of those guys: Tarver,Harding, Johnson, etc, were all decent C+- B level fighters. Tarver caught him with a great punch and shot him, and Johnson jumped on the scraps of a faded legend. There was no step up, just Roy getting old.
:roflpatsch Joe was hiding in WBO land fighting the likes of tokker pudwell and going life and death with charles brewer's ghost...
What the hell are you on about? Bernard Hopkins and James Toney are two of the top fighters of Roy's era... He didn't "step it up" he got old, moron.
Great post.. Though I have made the same point many times, they just ignore it and go back to the "step up" argument... Funny, both Tarver and Johnson, got humiliated by Hopkins, who Roy beat with one hand, but somehow Tarver and Johnson were a step up?:nut
again, thanks for proving my point. indiana has NEVER had drug testing. it was the alphabet groups that conducted the test. jones was never requested to take a 2nd test either. they have a B sample that was never tested because jones said he took ripped fuel and everything stopped there. jones did give indiana his drug test results from his next two fights which were negative. you've got a story stuck in your head because it's what you want to hear. kind of like when you guys were telling me that jones was busted by a drug testing pilot program. the problem is that the program started in 2001 and the jones-hall fight was in 2000. you're a joke, even for these boards.
BALCO was a California based laboratory that specialized in PEDs that were undetectable up until 2002. Then the federal government investigated BALCO and the feds were supplied with samples of BALCO's product. Shortly thereafter the labs contracted by boxing commissions found how to test and detect the presence of BALCO PEDs. Look at RJJ's career after 2002.
This has been done to death, those who state Jones was innocent are really ****ing clutching at straws. The first time he was tested as a pro, he fails and is caught with anabolic steroids in his system. Refuses to submit to a follow up test, then weeks later comes out with excuses ranging from diet supplements to nasal sprays. It's pretty obvious Jones was cheating, any objective individual can see this. There is absolutely no proof to support the ripped fuel or andro bull****. Joe.boxer and HEAD' have thoroughly dominated this thread
How did he refuse a follow up when he agreed with the Indiana that he would submit drug tests to them for his next two fights
How old was he then? Dumbest thing ever..When does a fighter usually decline..Look at his career after. 02 atsch
:deal People believe what they want to believe because they can't stand the thought of their hero being a drugs cheat. I think if history has taught us anything it is this: If it looks like superman and performs like superman then it's probably a drugs cheat.
