Joe just totally embarrassed him. Had he gone for the KO from the 9th round on he would have got it. Instead he taunted and toyed with Roy.
Right wasn't Joe supposed to crack his glass jaw ? Right Rico who isn't going to ko Jones ..man stfu already !
Yeah, although Sheika didn't quite "smash" a prime Glen Johnson, he won a hard-fought decision. Although I suppose he did smash Glen when he dropped him with a resounding right hand, which is the only time I've ever seen or heard of Glen going down. Johnson had gotten off to a lead the first 2 or 3 rounds, but after getting dropped he was like, "Oh ****!" and he allowed Sheika to control most of the rest of the rounds. Sheika was badly weight drained for that fight, but still gutted out a close-ish but fair decision. Seeing someone like Sheika pull that fight out the way he did, made me lose almost complete respect for Roy the way he just folded to Johnson in their fight. I always enjoyed watching Sheika fight. I'd love to see him win this - it would be a nice notch on his belt after all these years.
Im telling you Jones will not give up if he manges to look impressive ..I think after a while fighters shoudl be forced out.I was never a fan of the tragic side of boxing .. Jones goto broadcasting man start up a rival contender show stop it now .
I agree, If Jones manages to look halfway decent, he will start calling out other fighters at the end of the fight. Like he has done in the recent past after a mediocre post prime performance.
Roys recent PPV fights have been 30 bucks and im talking the small ones like Hanshaw and Ajamu. This may even be cheaper considering the economy. Totally sad though considering Sheika himself is shot but was always levels and levels below Roy just a gatekeeper at best in his prime. Roy should win a clear decision and will get a big fight for a title afterwards.
Why not? Coming out of semi-retirement, moving up a weight class (I'm assuming this fight will be at 175, I could be wrong), fighting a multi-division champion and future HOFer who was the consensus #1 P4P rated fighter only 5 years ago, and is still considered a legit contender today - why would that not be noteworthy? I guarantee Jones comes in as the favorite in this fight.
