You have to realize that I am an educational junkie. I have two associate degrees, one bachelor's degree, went and took machine shop last year but got shut out of welding this year. Boxing isn't like the rest of the world though. There is vested interests in NOT helping someone you may have to face in the future. Nazeem is tied to GB. Steward? I don't think so. Pat Burns has Duddy. Etc... I would like to see Kelly get some light work with other trainers between fights, but this doesn't seem to be the system is set up. All or nothing.

I'd really hate to see KP get put on his ass early, and all 3 times he's been down happened within the first 4 rounds. However, in the long run, I don't think it would make any difference. Bernard used Kelly's head for a speed bag, and he never was really hurt. He took multiple flush shots from Mranda and Zuniga and was never really hurt. The only time he's been really hurt was when he took like 15 shots from JT, 8 of them smack on flush.

If you dig into Rubio's resume, you'll find that his KO ratio is a bit deceptive. A prime example lies in the fact that McKart put Ornales down twice, but Rubio never came close.

Kelly has said he will use angles in this fight because they create problems for Rubio. Yeah, I know. Kelly doesn't know the meaning of the word.

My buddy, joe Goosen, is ideal in teaching an already live dog some new wrinkles. This is what he is known for...and with Kelly Pavlik's work ethic, this would be a perfect fit.

    What do you think?

Fine by me if Kelly gets some work in between camps. Light stuff for learning. Not up to me though.

If Leow were to bring in some extra help, Miguel Diaz would be my first choice. He's been in Kelly's corner since his first pro fight, but does not participate in fight preparation. Kelly knows him, trusts him, and would listen to him.

it is just that pavlik is a bigger and more aggressive fighter...also, i think he has the bigger heart...almost zero chance that rubio would KO this guy

In an interview I read today Rubio said the way to beat Pavlik is "attack, attack, attack.":patsch

Don't worry, Pavlik can't hook like that.
