Good points guys, you know Rubio reminds me a little o Dick Tiger a late bloomer. To me Rubio stays in there what ever happens tough as nails. I think he should take Chavez, I just hope he doesnt have to kill the guy to get the dec.

It's a bit of an awkward comparison, just because Rubio lacks so much of Tiger's raw physical strength and certainly his sturdiness (I mean... Marco is indeed tough but he's someone who's been obliterated by far lesser men than Bob freaking Foster, the only man to do so to Dick) but otherwise yeah good shout.

    Chavez by TKO.
(Ref jumps in & stops the fight w/Rubio against the ropes 1-7rds)

For the odds, I'm backing Rubio. Just gonna bet like $10. But I can see it already, Chavez Jr.'s gonna be on his bicycle all night "boxing" his way to victory. Only gonna be a matter of whether Rubio can cut him off enough and land some good shots, hopefully draw him into a fight. Chavez Jr. got a good chin, but he hasn't been hit by someone like Rubio, so I'll take my chances with a determined underdog.

Btw, for what it's worth I asked trainer Robert Garcia for his prediction on the fight when I was at the Nonito Donaire open workout last Saturday, he said it's a good tough fight but he's picking Chavez Jr. by decision.

i think theres a good chance Rubio pulls a Salido here. this is the moment hes been waiting for all his carrer. i just hope for a good referee performance... i dont want chavez to conect with a flush shot and ref calls it a tko.

Anyone know Chavez's current weight situation?

I've read he's killing himself to make weight, even more so then normal

Kid has no ****ing dedication, honestly.

Started his career as a lightweight.

I'm aware he was young and he was growing, but come on. There's no reason he has to be a ****ing cruiserweight come fight night at this point in his career.

I will say Chavez because of his weight and size advantage. Rubio is decent and might produce a scare here or there. But the smart money would be on Chavez with narrow odds mind you!
