I thought Tor the ***** Hamer was a coward, but I think Ruiz just demoralizes fighters by taking their best punches and walking forward like he could eat 50 more of them flush. I think that's why Joshua quit, he knew he couldn't put Ruiz down and it was only inevitable that Ruiz would keep knocking him down with those combinations.
Ruizs mix of super fast hands, power, and grotesque unsightly obese body rubbing up against them is a deadly combination in making them quit.
Don't forget that Dimitrenko quit just 1.5 months prior to AJ fight, so Ruiz knows his job well. Dimi couldn't do anything against the fast combos to the body and head, and felt it was enough.
I still don't see how Joshua quit that night. The ref asked if he wanted to continue; he said yes and a few seconds later the fight was waved off.
He wasn´t asked to. During the previous knockdowns Joshua would also lean on the ropes. The ref would tell him to raise his arms and to move forward. Joshua always did what he was told to do.
People gonna think what they want to think. A guy borderline concussed and exhausted looks the ref right in the eye and says he wants to continue but because he doesnt say it how they want him to they call a guy whose risen from 4 knockdowns and shows willingness to keep fighting a quitter
If you want to see someone quit, look at Ward-Dawson. Dawson got up but the told Smoger that he wanted out. Ever since Loma made Rigo quit, this place has been obsessed with quitting. And not just this forum; Max ****ing Cuckermans first reaction when Miguel Roman knocked down Salido, was to say: "Salido just quit". Thankfully he realized how stupid that statement was and somewhat corrected it.
Imagine taking a flush aj shot on the chin, getting up no problem, going right after him and f.ucking him up. Ruiz is the definition of alpha male. Doesn’t give a s.hit. About his opponent, body image , whatever.
Yeah I don't think he quit. He was ****in around in the corner for longer than he should have been though.
