If this is true and they have indeed filed a lawsuit according to reports, then Matchroom will find out the hard way that the American jurisdiction system is not the uk where they can throw their weight around and bully individuals with pieces of paper.

They haven't got a case to stand on, at all.

All Eddie had to do was to offer reasonable terms and a reasonable location that suited both parties.

Yet him and his boy are such huge shithouses, that they will do anything not to fight in America again, after all the talk of taking over the states and attempting to prove Joshua can fight anywhere.

Instead he's dragging his heels and now wants to get at Ruiz because he's not bowing down to a challenger that quit.

They don't want the rematch.

100% mate. Hearn is currently doing the sales pitch to end all sales pitches convincing people otherwise at the moment.

He knows that anything less than a "muh redemption" approach will see Joshua's endorsement and stock vanish, never to return. Just like he "triggered" the rematch clause literally before Joshua had regained his senses. It's all an act. This exactly what he did when they ducked Wilder, even down to making up fake dialogues he supposedly had with Finkel which plainly never happened.

If AJ is going to rematch Ruiz, it will be a ludicrously derisory amount to Ruiz so AJ and Eddie can both get a nice bug farewell payout on the gift that's kept giving over the last few years should Joshua lose. Haymon plainly isn't allowing this to happen, rightly so.
