Lewis got caught with a lucky shot, AJ got a beating and was knocked down several times, two different storys...
exactly, lets see if he learnt his lesson or not. i think AJ wins UD but i wont be shocked if he gets clobbered again.
The way in which Lewis was knocked out by Rahman made a great splash worldwide as much as the 3 KDs and the final TKO suffered by AJ against Ruiz and I remember that even in those times many talked about an alleged mental weakness of Lewis. Only when Lewis won the rematch everyone became convinced Rahman beated Lewis in the 1st bout thanks to a lucky punch.
Parker beat Ruiz narrowly over 12 rounds. I had Parker by 1 round. He outworked Ruiz although Ruiz’s excuse was that he wasn’t letting his hands go enough.
Wrong. Ruiz said he thought the judges unfairly gave it to Parker, ie. he was robbed. I could not stand to hear the commentary and the crowd. That was the most ridiculously biased fight in a while. Don't come in here lying your ass off. https://www.ringtv.com/561185-andy-...-unfinished-business-in-anthony-joshua-fight/ This content is protected
“From the beginning he’s had my belt … when I fought Joseph Parker it was for the WBO title, they robbed my fight going over there to his home town so technically AJ has my belt,” Ruiz said, via a video released by Matchroom.
You're looking for a silver lining and getting your hopes up. I can do that too, especially when its a fighter I like and root for. But my default setting is brutally harsh cynical realist. I usually try my best to stick with my default setting. And you should too.
Way different, Rahman was known for Fragile Whickers and Oleg Maskaev had Destroyed Rahman even launching him into the Ringside audience... Lennox Lewis saw that fight and Rahman barely surviving another KO Loss to Corrie Sanders, so they figured a fight with Rahman had little risk and would be a Highlite Reel KO... Well, it was!!! People talking about Lewis vs Rahman, I think a better comparison is Wlad vs Sanders. Lewis Rahman was, if not a fluke, an off night for Lewis let's say. Sanders vs Klitschko was Klitschkos flaws getting exposed. It took Wlad a long time to get over that sanders loss, he spent years tweaking his whole style and approach to boxing, and he did a great job in the end. But he didn't go back straight in with Sanders and he looked shaky in several fights after that. His rebuild was slow and methodical, but at the end people only really remember the best version of klitschko. Anyway the basic point is this isn't a simple case of an off night, Ruiz demonstrated a style Joshua wasn't equipped to deal with and I don't think he can overcome it in the space of a few months. Don't see it at all and even though people say I'm an AJ hater I'll give him huge props if he actually manages to do it.
You're spot on. Parker did brilliantly in that match, sadly most seem to not comprehend that merely moving forward isn't enough to win a round, you actually have to land here and there, which AJ did very little of. Parker while he didn't land much, neither man did, and his more accurate shots should have edge far more rounds to hi than the judges gave him.
