To be fair, it took both to make this number...not just Canelo. Without GGG, Alvarez wouldn't have been able to pull off a million buys with anyone besides a Mayweather or PAC.

Gate was supposed to be 30 million. Anybody still think that GGG should have just taken Goldenboy's flat 10 million offer?

GGG (97K) is now a household name thanks to Big Red
If the numbers are legit that is good for boxing after the Big Top Show a few weeks prior to this REAL match

I heard Golovkin only brought in 97k of those buys. The rest was all Canelo :eatingburger

Yes, credit to you for that prediction. I knew it would be over 1M but didn't think it could get to 2M

I think both GGG and Canelo are very pleased with the results of his promoting. Which two boxers can sell 2 million and make 30 and 70 mil?

Insane numbers, they would be crazy not to have a rematch.

But wait... shouldn't Golovkin have agreed to a flat fee? I thought that was the conventional wisdom amongst all you Canelas?

Probably the same one who thought Pac should have taken a flat fee as well ;)

How much did Canelo vs. Chavez and Smith do?

How much did Golovkin vs. Lemieux and Jacobs?

    Canelo entirely drove the PPV.

    Great news, if true.

But, but, but Golovkin only fights bums.

It has being proven many times that you need a good dancing partner to have big PPV numbers. Canelo, Pac or Mayweather could not make big numbers if your opponent is not someone the public is asking for. Golovkin got alot of crtisim here because he couldn't sell a PPV but he sure helped Canelo reach or exceed 2 million PPV. Without the both of them this would not be possible.
