Again, avoiding answering the questions. That's fine, you've dug yourself into enough of a hole. Like I said, if you can't answer the questions you can't answer them.
What makes you think that everybody here giving advice are amateurs? Truthfully it doesn't take a knowledgeable person to understand that running with ankle weights is gonna hurt your running mechanics. I'd like to know who told you it was a good idea? And please don't name athletes, they generally just do what they are told without understanding the science behind what they're doing.
Always funny when people come to the forum saying everybody is wrong but they can't back up what they're saying. Nice job, ron.
Dude that rongee guy was mad stupid...jesus cristos. People like that are the reason I'm thinking of becoming a personal trainer. Clearly there's a need with all the stupidity floating around out there.
The only stupid one here is you and the so called forum experts (virus, Lefty), giving misleading or false information on a subject you clearly do not know anything about. Sure give an opinion, but to say 'ankle weights' are just plain bad for you, stay away because it will fuk you up etc is just plain ignorant. And no, google won't always help you. Were you the chubby guy at school that use to say that donuts were high in protein? Put your egos aside, admit you don't know anything about the topic given and stop sucking each others dicks to get your daily boost. :nut To those contemplating using ankle weights, get a health check from your doctor/physician and talk to those who have actually used them while running jumping etc...including myself, and just give it a try. And one other thing, if I was to choose to get advice from an elite athlete who has used ankle weights and been at the top of their game whether it be basketball, boxing, etc or a forum amateur, who do you think I'd listen to? No brainer really... As I have a life outside of cyberworld I'll leave it at that. ps: Now lets see what strategic comeback you guys have. And killsomething, please dont try to become a personal trainer. Your end up like Virus and infect your clients with false info.
Agreed. These are the same people that said "diet causes overtraining symptoms" In their minds you could workout 7 days a week and as long as you eat healthy you will be fine. lol no They also disagree that punchers are born.. Dumbasses.
You only come here for other peoples personal experience/knowledge/opinions then take it as a grain of salt. If you want to try it out yourself then do it, you're not going to cause permanent damage experimenting. It does strain parts of you body which can cause injury, thats true. Others say the training will make you stronger and fitter, which it does. I've seen hikers and army guys train with far more weight than a simple ankle weight. Just exercise some good decision making when you train.
I can post some journal articles outlining the harm ankle weights can cause if you like? You know journal articles that actual sports scientists put together who have done research for universities/colleges to use? Is that credible enough for you? Or do I have to post a youtube video to prove something? :rofl Fkng dumbass.
It's funny that you are calling someone a dumbass when it was your total lack of comprehension of what I was saying made you think that I was saying that. You copied and pasted some **** from wikipedia because you didn't even know what overtraining was. It's funny, you see that uneducated people get so emotional when you tell them they are wrong, can't back up anything they say and use youtube and wikipedia as their sources. You're a joke Hansen.
It's a matter of where the weight is, if you have weight evenly distributed over your whole body or you can comfortably carry it on your back it can be alright. Ankle weights pose a serious risk to your knees when RUNNING, that's a proven fact and you can cause permanent damage. It's not a matter of opinion.
lol I quoted wikipedia to give a brief description of what overtraining was to make it easier to explain to the guy who was originally asking the question. Buuutt since you have "books" you're the ****ing expert. I'm going from personal experience sir..I guarantee i'm in better shape than you in every aspect, i've had over 10 personal trainers in my life, and they would ALL disagree with what you said. BTW, i'm 23, have my A.S. degree and i'm currently going for my bachelor's degree (Which I should have by next year). I'm hardly "uneducated" in any sense. Stick to your books and ******ed personal beliefs (If it's written in a book it must 100% true every time hurr durr) I'll stick to my personal experience and professional advice. You are the joke my friend.
But are there idiots who would stick to doing something that stupid on a day to day basis? If so they ****in deserve to have their knees blown out, they were told and then didn't learn it's not natural in practice and thats mroe what i was referring to than anything. Some people need to figure things out, thats what training is all about.
funny this rongee guy just wrote a whole essay on why everyone else is wrong but didn't provide any facts or evidence himself.
