cant see it Chagaev never really showed power once he moved up in class and Sultan got hit by Whitaker, Vlad, Friday, and Austin but recovered...Chagaev was a decision guy...who did he stop
Nobody, he was a decision guy, but a mobile two-handed one. He was a pretty unique HW. He's not KO'ing, but he's not getting KO'd. The best boxer will in and that's Ruslan.
Chagaev will lose easily in the eliminator . And Gonorrhea affects the kidneys, but I guess you can live without those right? What does Tyson having a biting problem have anything to do with me commenting on Chagaev post hepatitis . Are you willing to debate a post Gunshot Cleveland Williams vs Ali ? Chagaev had no chance vs Klit to begin with Hepatitis or not . As far as you saying I dont know what Im talking about is completly your opinion ,I was born into boxing , and was spoon fed it since I can remember. Ive seen and met Donald Curry, Gene Hatcher, Paulie Ayala, James Buschemi, Don King, Ed Jones , Lynn Ball, Jessie Valdez and other local talent . I watch the Golden Gloves every year,go to any pro fights that are even in the vacinity of the area in which I live. I live for boxing and always have.
Chagaev was a different animal than an old heavy Briggs or a very old Holyfield. He didn't move like quicksilver, but he'd be able to keep up with and on top of Ibragimov. I never really trusted Sultan's chin, as lesser foes put him down and he fought very cautiously against the bigger and stronger ones. He'd also probably not feel the need to be quite so evasive, such as he was with Wladimir, against someone his own size (though Chagaev is deceptively strong for his height). Ruslan would have out-thought and out-punched him, worn him down and stopped him. IMO.

That's a great find, thanks for posting. :good It does look like Chag was able to cut off the ring and land with more authority. You know, it's not even been three years since that unification was hyped up...assuming Chagaev beats Meehan, he'll probably go after Haye for his old belt (winnable if he's at even 80% of his old form). Maybe Sultan could be lured out of fat and happy retirement by appealing to his greed (big money in Germany, especially if marketed as a grudgematch), since money seems to be his muse. If he had ample time to get back in shape and revive his chemistry with Jeff Mayweather, maybe get in a tune-up - it could still be interesting.
No way...Chagaev was no "white Tyson"...like Bummy asked...who did he ever stop? And besides, Sultan had more on the ball than Chagaev and would decision him.
