Ryan Rhodes Calls For a Floyd Mayweather Jr. Shot

At Boxing Scene the article is up there.

He fancies a fight with the Money man and his trainer Dave Coldwell has offered his services to PBF who has a bleak list of opponents to choose from imo.

With rumours that British boxer Matthew Hatton was considered to box Floyd Mayweather, another British fighter has thrown his name into the hat. Ryan Rhodes, the current European light-middleweight Champion, is ready and willing to take on the superstar.

Rhodes trainer and co-manager Dave Coldwell has offered his man's services. Coldwell said: “I hear that Floyd is willing to come to the UK to showcase his talents, and that they contacted Matthew Hatton originally. Well, although Matthew has recently arrived on the world scene with his last fight, a challenge for the IBO welterweight title, my guy Ryan Rhodes is currently ranked No.3 by the WBC, No.4 by the IBF and No.5 by The Ring Magazine.

“Ryan is the current European champion and is a big strong junior middleweight coming off ‘The Fight of The Year’ in Europe and one of the fights of the year worldwide. I believe that would be a fight that would attract less negativity and would give Floyd some credit for coming into a foreign country and taking on the best man there.

“Rhodes is now a big name in the UK and has the boxing fans respect, a Floyd Mayweather fight over here would sell out in quick time. If ‘Money Mayweather’ is serious about wanting to come and show the UK fans what he's all about, then Rhodes is the man he should come and fight.

A legitimate world title contender, like I say, The Ring ranks Rhodes no.5. Now, every boxing fan in the states reads that magazine, and if Manny was thinking of fighting Yuri Foreman then it's ok for Floyd to fight Rhodes as The Ring ranks Rhodes above Foreman!
“The fight would be easy to make here, Frank Warren is joint manager along with myself. We could do a Mayweather/Frank Warren Promotion,

I work with Hayemaker, we could do it joint with them and I’m also a promoter myself! There's nothing in the way. Rhodes can fight - he's proved that. He can punch and has balls. If Mayweather wants in on a bit of UK action, we're here and the UK fans would get behind it.

I suppose if Magic Matt is in the frame for a Mayweather fight then why the hell not Rhodes?

I would rather see Rhodes get a shot than eeeehhh orrrrrr...!

Ryan has done it once and is on the second lap of the track...!...:good

Well Rhodes is the best option for Floyd IMO if he is wanting to fight here.

Let's just say i wouldn't moan at this fight being made. It's alot better then other match ups mentioned.

Theres nobody in britain who even comes close to fighting Mayweather but i deffinetly pick Rhodes over Hatton all day long.

Hey, if he wants to come over here, which is what we've heard, than why not Ryan?
He has the rankings, is a big light-middle. Not many other Brits around that weight that have the ranking is there.

As a massive Rhodes fan I would love to see this fight, even though Ryan would be a rank outsider....he would probably go the distance though

i too like every1 else prefer Rhodes to Magic Mathew bigtime!
Obviously PBF favourite but Rhodes definitly has a chance.
im sure this fight will sell in uk.

i hope tho takaloo & everybody else dont jump on the bandwagon & start calling Mayweather out, its become a fashion of late.

If i was Rhodes I'd be embarrassed to call out Mayweather, its pathetic man !! Obviously anyone would be licking there lips at the money they would earn but still, they gotta realize there chances are next to nothing - I'd just save face and not even bother !! you just make yourself look like a complete ****
