Jeffries was nowhere near as fast as Dempsey,so Sam would be able to utilise his superior skills and pick 'Jeff' apart.
Langford himself said he had no chance against Jeffries. I actually think this is a good style matchup for Jeff, for Langford was not the defensive wizard that Johnson was, plus he was only 5'7" and 170-180, didn't use a lot of footwork, and was willing to slug it out, which would be a dangerous proposition against a guy 6'1" 220-230 who had a good chin and heavy punch. It would be very entertaining though, regardless of result, because both were very tough cookies.
In 1910, more entertaining than Jeffries-Johnson, but I think Jeffries reactions were too shot for him to prevail at this point.
Langford performs a merciless beating that makes Johnson's treatment of Jeffries look like a tea party.
I actually think Jeffries is all wrong for Sam, in fact, Sam thought the same thing... That said, against the 1910 version.. I would give Sam the edge
In 1910 Jeffries was a shell while Langford was in his prime .... I see Sam destroying him in under three rounds ... too fast and hard hitting ... Jeffries would be massacred ... prime for prime a different story ...
Shouldn't any fantasy fight be between both fighters in their respective primes ? If not where does it end ?
Correct me if I am wrong ,but it was Joe Woodman who said that ,and it was around 1906. In 1910 Langford would have beat the **** out of the faded Jeffries.
Jeffries has an edge over Sam at their peaks, but I gotta go with the 1910 Langford being too sharp for a 1910 Jeffries.

" Actually, there was a time that Langford supposedly said that he'd fight anyone except that big hairy fella (Jeffries). I can believe that he may have said that because according to Australian promoter Hugh McIntosh, there was a time that Sam thought McVey might have been too big for him. Of course, he went on to become McVey's master.
I will happily defer to your greater knowledge on the subject. However ,it is my understanding that that comment was made around 1905,when Jeffries retired , at that time I believe Langford scaled around 156lbs?, By 1910 Sam would have beat the snot out of the seriously diminished Grizzly Bear.
Actually, before the 1910 Johnson-Jeffries fight, Langford picked Jeff to win. Sam said he thought he could beat Johnson, but would have no chance with Jeff, which therefore explained his selection of Jeff to beat Johnson.
In 1910, the 6' tall Jefries weighed around 220 on a good day and had the flesh hanging off him. If Johnson hadn't stopped him, he would've collapsed from heat-stroke. Sam fought guys who were just as big as Jeffries and in way better shape than the 1910 version. He would've moided Jeff in five or six rounds. In fact, Tommy Burns and Philadelphia Jack O'Brien would've made that model look like the tired old man he was. ...
