But Langford isn't Holyfield though. Just because Holyfield did it doesn't mean every tom **** harry can do it. I also feel the whole Holyfield beat him on the inside is a bit overblown. Evander mainly used his size and muscle mass to push Tyson around and clinch him to exhaustion.
Hopefully we are talking about a prime Tyson and not the one who had five unchallenging fights straight out of prison before facing Holyfield. Stupid matchmaking IMO.
Spinks and Holmes were ATGs, probably, whatever that means, and Tyson did beat them. In "fantasy" match-ups, he'd beat or probably beat some of, and stand a good chance against the rest of Schmeling, Baer, Patterson, Marciano, Jeffries, Tunney, Dempsey, Charles, Walcott, Wills, Lewis, Bowe, even Wlad Klitschko. It's all guess work. I flip and flop on certain fights maybe, it's not exactly a science, but generally try to have a balanced view, I reckon, based on the facts. You've already often stated you'd make prime Tyson no worse than 50-50 against anyone, which is your call but hardly backed up by the facts. It seems a bit far-fetched to have him favourite against everyone, considering who he beat and who he lost to in those days.
His whole career was mostly unchallenging fights. But to be fair, he was good enough to render some decent contenders non-challenges.
Highlights of Tyson Lewis. Even this version of Tyson has langford seeing stars looking up the ceiling within 2 rounds.
Highlights of Tyson Lewis, http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oBYQBSNN0PE Despite his shorter reach against the self proclaimed pugilist specialist, Tyson did outjab Lewis on occasion. Certainly better than that bum Tua.
To be fair to Tua, he stayed the distance. Tyson got the sh!t smacked out of him within 8 rounds. Terrible beating. Lewis won at least 6 of the completed 7 rounds. Some people having Tyson winning round 1 but Lewis had him reeling in that round already too. It was a sickening mismatch.
Lewis, in my opinion, was awful at avoiding jabs, so I imagine Tyson even managed to land some. Tucker's form in that regard is suspect too. I saw Orlin Norris outbox him, Norris was even smaller than Tyson. Problem with Tucker is he fought so few real contenders in his prime that it's hard to say how good it was. He beat Douglas, which means a lot, since Douglas went on to batter Tyson.
Going the distance is only impressive if you actually did anything. Morrison, Bruno, Vitali and Tyson. Neither of them went the distance with Lewis, ALL of them tried to win the fight. Tua just plodded along, so much that he fell asleep and actually walked into the ringpost in the last 10 seconds of the fight. Tyson actually tried to make a fight of it and made Lewis work. Tua in comparison was a walk in the park. Obviously a boxer who fights much more aggressivle is more likely to get stopped than a boxer who fights at a slow passive pace. Tyson actually outjabbed and landed punches on Lewis, something Tua couldnt even dream of. Tyson was a whole different ballgame to Tua.
