Many people pick Langford to beat Johnson, and pick Johnson over Ali. Yet they do not give Langford a chance against Ali. I find this peculiar. (Personally, I think Ali obliterates both Johnson and Langford under modern rules).
In fairness, I think that most boxers today don't know what they're looking at when they see old fight films. They think they're watching modern boxing and critique accordingly, but they're actually watching a very different fist-fighting martial art that developed thanks to different rules. If we switched to MMA gloves and allowed more clinch-fighting, fighters would start looking a bit more like Johnson. Not exactly like Johnson, but closer.
