All in a hard day's work. Vitali is a total badass. He knows it, too.

Good thread, MJ, I'm just now watching the fight and I've seen some early signs of some of the things you have referred to. Agreed.

Oh **** off. Boxing is a mental sport as well as a physical one, any fighter or trainer or cornerman can tell you that. I know what I am speaking of.

You really think that this beating won't have an effect on him mentally? Do you really think this sport is all about the physical being of a fighter? Think about what you are saying...the mental aspect of the game is everything!!

Whatever...do you have any idea what kind of preparation a fighter has to do mentally and physically to perform at that level?

It looked easy, yes...it was anything but!!

i was kidding more than anything. i fight in the amateurs and even when i've clearly outpointed a kid, it's still draining. going 3 rounds is hard and the training is even harder. can't imagine going 8, let alone 12.

Even if there was no open scoring he wasn't landing anything to convince his self he's in the fight. He was out of it from the start and didn't do a single thing to trouble his opponent. The open scoring just confirmed it more for him even though he doesn't really need confirmation.

His corner should have threatened to stop the fight earlier if he didn't do anything in there.

I don't believe so, I think any fighter in Peter's position would pretty much know he'd lost every round anyway.

I can see open scoring being a problem in closer fights, but not this one. If Peter would have had any delusions of being ahead going into round 9, he has more problems than losing a boxing match.

He is not good fighter, it had nothing to do with mentel cuts. That sounds like Teddy Atlas crap. Vitali is solid fighter, Peter is not.

Especially against guys that big...that has to be taxing. I stopped sparring when I was in college...I noticed that just getting hit with consistent jabs would hinder my ability to think in class. I remember feeling dizzy days after sparring. I can't even imagine how it feels without headgear!! :!:
