    Remember, Dave beat Villamein who twice beat Jake but only got the decision once (when Jake held title).

    My pick, Sands points in one of the great middleweight fights.
     
  2. yeah dave way too good for la motta here he would have defeated the faded srr in the 50's as well

    Would been a very hard fight for Jake..one he would have surely needed to come from behind to win.

    It's hard to definitely pick Sands here though.

    He beat a lot of very good fighters at the time...but Jake is a different kettle of fish to Olson, Villemain and Turpin.

    Sands could definitely win against a 1950's LaMotta who had slowed down but a prime mid 40's Jake would be a more difficult task. Sands sometimes ran out of gas in the late rounds, so you can count on LaMotta to come on strong late.
